TEXAS CITY, Texas – Tar balls from the Gulf oil spill found on a Texas beach were ed hardy confirmed Monday as the first evidence that gushing crude from the Deepwater Horizon well has
reached all the Gulf states.
A Coast Guard official said it was possible that the oil hitched a ride on a ship and was not carried naturally by currents to the barrier islands of the eastern Texas coast, but there was no way to know for sure.
The amount discovered is tiny in comparison to what has coated beaches so far in the hardest-hit parts of the Gulf coast in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and the Florida Panhandle. It still provoked the quick dispatch of cleaning crews and a vow that BP will
pay for the trouble.
"Any Texas shores impacted by the Deepwater spill will be cleaned up quickly and BP will be picking up the tab," Texas Land Commissoner Jerry Patterson said in a news release.

WASHINGTON – Gen. David Petraeus left open the possibility of ed hardy recommending that President Barack Obama delay his plans to start withdrawing troops from Afghanistan
next summer if the new commander can't turn around the stalemated war.
"There will be an assessment at the end of this year after which undoubtedly we'll make certain tweaks, refinements, perhaps some significant changes," Petraeus told a Senate panel Tuesday of the battle plan and the timeline Obama has laid out.
The Senate Armed Services Committee quickly approved Petraeus for the job of running the Afghan war, and the full Senate was expected to confirm him Wednesday. Obama nominated Petraeus to take over from the disgraced Gen. Stanley McChrystal,
fired last week for disparaging remarks about his civilian bosses.
Petraeus also told senators that he may change the war's battlefield rules, designed to limit civ ...

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – A suspected tornado tore through Connecticut's largest city ed hardy Thursday, toppling trees and power lines and collapsing several buildings as a powerful line of storms
swept across parts of the Northeast. Remarkably, no serious injuries were reported.
Hundreds of bricks shook loose from buildings, trees split in half and crushed cars, and a billboard hung precariously several stories up over Main Street. Nine buildings were partially or fully collapsed, including three on East Main Street that were brought to
their foundations. Rescuers searched the rubble to ensure no one had been inside.
Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch declared a state of emergency after the fast-moving system of driving rain and wind gusts that reached 78 miles per hour in the area.
Jacqueline Arroyo, 44, said she saw a black cloud and ran inside to her third-floor apartment, where the window exploded. Trees were bl ...

BASSETERRE, Saint Kitts and Nevis (AFP) – Morne Morkel continued to impress, as authentic ed hardy South Africa restricted West Indies to a three-run, first innings lead in the second Test on
Monday.
Morkel finished with four wickets for 116 runs from 34.1 overs, as West Indies were dismissed for 546 about 45 minutes before the rescheduled close, replying to the South Africans' first innings total of 543 for six declared.
Graeme Smith and Alviro Petersen then batted through the remaining time to carry the Proteas to 23 without loss at the close on the fourth day at Warner Park.
Morkel had removed the first two West Indies wickets, and returned to mop-up the tail, when he removed Ravi Rampaul caught behind for 31 to give wicketkeeper Mark Boucher his 500th victim in Tests, and Sulieman Benn caught at second slip for 26.
The lanky fast bowler's intervention was not swift enough however, after Rampaul and Benn endured a one-and-a-hal ...
