Sorry you didn't get the job hun I know how you feel. I applied for a job at a playgroup attached to my daughters school, Only problem was they were after a welsh speaker I am only learning but I was told it shouldn't be a problem anyway I didn't even get the job I know the person who did quite well and she never even mentioned she was going for it.
I was then asked if I could help out when they needed it, I worked last wed as one of them was on a course I took it this was voulentary then this morning my dd's teacher gave me a cheque so I was well pleased just hoping now someone goes on the sick lol.

my daughters nursery was advertising for parent to come in a few hrs every day and asked us to fill in form ... and i wasnt picked even though i did my training at the same nursery years ago when i was a college and were pleased with me then ..... what i didnt aggree with was the parents asking staff to their faces saying tehy could do this or that ..whenever instead writing on the application form as requested to do
but ....as they say something will turn up

thanks ladies, i'm going to keep looking to see if anything else comes up. I am lucky as i'm in the postion of looking for a job for me rather than needing one, this one fitted in so well with school and dh's working hours. i just really want to do something but no idea what now.

i know how you feel hun, i applied for the perfect job for me, it was an admin job in a nursing home with the hours of 10-2 which was great for getting back into part time work.
i went for an interview last week , the interview was 20mins late as they had been talking to the most boring girl i have ever met, and thought things were going well until i was given the comments 'you're very young' im 21 and dont consider that a disadvantage for the job. and also that i was probably over qualified as i had more qualifications than their main administrator.
i knew as i was leaving that interview i wasnt going to get that job and i was gutted, we all have babies to provide for and morgages to pay. all im trying to do is help pay the bills and have employers messing me about, it does get disheartening.

Sorry you didn't get it. I would suggest you write to the school and say that whilst you're dissapointed not to get the job you hope that they would keep you in mind for next time as you're positive you've got the right mixture of skills etc. I interviewed someone and rejected them for the job and they sent the same sort of letter to me. I recruited for the position again recently and she was the first person I thought of. She started this week.

Sorry you didnt get it hun, im sure theres a perfect job out there for you

I applied for an admin job, closing date was last Friday, i have no experience although they said they would train etc....... I havn't heard anything either way yet (interview or rejection letter) and im dying to find out........ think the waiting is the worse bit.
Good luck and i hope you find success next time xxx

Don't put yourself down. You don't know the other person situation or conditions - she may not be suitable. The important thing is that you feel everything went well - a big thing I would say if that was you first interview for years.
Good luck - I hope you get it.

I wouldn't be too sure on that hunni, I know an awful lot of places won't take ex-employees back on again despite the reason for leaving. Don't sell yourself short, it might be ok yet

sorry i'm having a bit of a feelinf sorry for myself moment. went for a job at ds's school perfect hours just down the round. first interview in 4 years and i thought it went well until i was on the way out and saw the lady waiting to go after me. i know this lady from playgroup and was talking to het ages ago and she was telling me how she use to work at the school a while ago. i know she's going to get it and i'm sure some of her family work there too. just waiting for them to ring back and time now.

Congratulations hun. I've now got an interview at asda so may still get a job fingers crossed.
