I think that sounds like SMP - she should get 6 weeks at 90% of her salary  - then that reduces to £102.80 per week for the remainder of her 9 months maternity leave.  HTH xx

SMP is approx £110 per week, so from what you say her monthly pay is, then I'd guess she's getting SMP.

hello ladies, i am asking on behalf of my sister - she is a secondary school teacher and had a baby on 24th August - she has just recieved a letter from the council outlining payments that will be made to her, now this is the confusing bit - they are on average paying her around £450/500 per month (net pay) is this SMP or is this her reduced wages??...I think its SMP but she is really confused - please anyone could you advise of how this works..many thanks in advance
