speaking from past experience i know how you feel hun, isnt it also against the law to play 'loud' music after a certain time? say 10pm or something? it should say in your contract if you have one but still contact environmental health and the council,if they dont buck up their ideas the council can evict them.5/10/08 09:21
hi, does your local authoritie have a anti social behaviour team??? it might be worth finding out although they sometimes only deal with council tenants. They can usually come and dispurse gangs if on council propertie or tell the neighbours to turn the music down but have to witness it first. also as the privous post says contact your enviromental health and there might be something they can do. good luck hun xxxxx

If it's that bad hun contact the enviromental health they might come and set up some equipment up in your home to measure the noise levels, then take it from there

We are at the end of our tether!!!!!!!!!!!!! We live in a 3 bed semi, but our house is ajined to two corner houses. When we moved in both houses were rented and the tennants were fine, then they have both been sold, and the new owners are hell one side is particularly worse! as they are both 1 bed starter homes we have a single bloke on one side, who plays his music night and day (not really loud, just all day and eve), and the other side is a young couple who row a lot, and you can hear every word! then at weekends they seem to have the world and his wife to stay and have parties/kareoke etc! We have tried being polite, explaining that we can hear them, and that we have small children etc, the first few times we complained they were apologetic, but did nothing to change!, my dh has been round there (once at 3am) and had a go at them, they just tell him that its there house and they'll do as they please!
they wake us up when they come in from the pub every fri and sat night, and our ds has trouble sleeping when they are noisy. we have a new baby due next month as well. It is really getting me down and im starting to get depressed about it, and dread being at home.

Op said both homes had been sold so I'm persuming the people in them own their homes so then the council cannot evict them
Environmental health are the best bet
