we had these when we went to  a hen party so not quite the same but my best friend was playing with her's in a indian resturant in london and it snaped and went all up the wall of the indian and on the table. we all laughed but the poor man who locked up must have thought aliens had landed as it was green and up the wall's and before anyone asks no we were not drunk just high from watching grease in the theather.lol. and i was the youngest in the resturant and the oldest was 72. the hen had gone to a pub for a drink. though i would not get them for dd as she still puts everything in her mouth even at the age of 4. i would say if she is ok tonight then she will be fine.

I wont let mine have them anymore, they got some from a party and I put it on top of the pram, raincover was on and it leaked.  When I checked the raincover there was holes in it, where the liquid had melted it.  Tracyxx

Dont worry, alot have split and shes not the only one. After reading the link i sent you, it sounds ok. I must say my dd had one once and it split in her mouth that was before i heard about the woman who got it in her eye, maybe she was just unfortunate.

Thanks for your further replies. They have scared me all over again though! I sent dd to school like normal today, there's no redness or anything. Now i'm wondering if i should have got her checked but can't see they would have done anything more maybe?

It might be worth finding out the info relating where it was bought and more importantly made.

I don't want to worry you but if they are glow in the dark it contains small amounts of radioactive materail(not enough for health risk but I wouldn't want it on my childs skin).

You've said it went in her eyes so it might be best to get her checked if the are the slightest bit sore.

Thank you both so much for your quick replies. It went in her eyes and mouth. It was one of the really thin ones. I will keep checking her.

I can't be sure but I thought they were supposed to be non toxic (this could be if swallowed though and not aplied to the skin?) the ones I had on lanyards for the kids party were definately non toxic but they were like 6 inch really thick ones worn around the neck and I did all the cracking and shaking of them and they were really tough so the chance of them splitting was remote. I have had the thin ones split before now though. I hope your lo is ok and I'd just check later to make sure there is no redness etc on the area. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I've had that happen to my daughter.  It was only a tiny bit that went on her, I washed it straight off and everything was fine.

and contents went on dd's skin. She was screaming saying it stung but i've rinsed and she's calm and asleep. Has this happened to anyone else? The glow stick was in a party bag she received
