Bless him hope he will be ok.
Yes she had bronchitus last year and has had problems ever since during the summer and winter months!
I have been told take it is asthma thats the problem but she also has to have a urine test as they are not sure if she has a urine infection as her temp keeps going over 39. Thanks for your reply x

Could she have bronchitus?
My DS has had it and in France an over night hospital stay would be normal as a min. They also gave him nebuliser to help protect his lungs and he's not asthmatic(although his lungs show it maybe a problem later), he is only effected during a cold.
He has the same type cough again started last night so he is home today if he doesn' improve he'll be at the doctors too.
I hope things improve for your niece soon.

Latest is they are looking at her chest xray from last time she was in.
Hopefully they will find the right thing for her now.
Hope your sister doesnt get anymore infections over the winter.
Thanks x

yeah i think its all about finding the meds that work best. The last time she had a chest infection (just a couple of weeks ago) it took about a month, 2 types of anti biotics and 2 types of steriods to clear it up

Thank you, i know what you mean about having to pay for the inhalers its expensive!!
My older 2 have asthma and one of them has it bad he has to take the brown all the time if he doesnt then he suffers, but the brown does keep it under control, my poor niece nothing is keeping it under control, no steriods no inhalers!!! Its awful, lets hope they find something soon, bless her.
Thanks again x

dont know if this helps but my sister has got asthma (shes 29) and every time she gets a sniffle she gets a chest infection and breathing troubles.
I think its all part of the asthma so I worry a lot for her and shes a big girl lol!
Its not nice but unfortunately I think its just something that comes with the illness.
What gets on my nerves is its a lifelong illness but she has to pay for life saving drugs when she has chest infections etc (because they are life saving, if left it would be pretty serious). Although I think shes now taken up paying annually for prescriptions so that if she gets ill throughout the year shes covered wether shes got money or not!

*** class="comment">my neice is 20 months and she has had problems since she was uder a year with asthma and eczema. shes on inhalers for her asthma (although thye haven't said she deffently has it) bless her she is always suffering with her breathing, yesterday she had a temp of 39 and she was a bit grizzly but she eat some ready brek, biscuit and some grapes, she also had a beaker of juice. once the calpol had kicked in her temp went back down. the dr said it is most probably a virus.
but a couple of hrs after the drs her temp went back up so they took her up the hospital and they kept her in as her breathing wasnt too good again. but why is she suffering so much with her breathing?? when ever she gets a runny nose it affects her breathing, she was only on steriods 2 wks ago. isnt it horrible whne they are like this and you dont know why?!!
if anyone has a lo or knows anyone that suffers like this it would be good to her from you, thanks x

hi
I have this same prob with my daughter who is 2 at end of month. She has ended up in hospital twice since she turned 1 but won't say it is asthma because she is still too young. We have been given a spacer with her inhaler to take if she gets wheezy.
I know what you going through. Everytime my daughter gets a cold it goes straight on chest and makes me panic. She had me up all last night with it
It is just something we learn to cope with though isn't it. Worrying all the same...
