I had one at 13 as part of a dyslexia assessment (showed very high IQ with dyslexic tendancies) at that age it is private, it is with a qualified child psychologist and it is over £100 a go. It is also very unreliable as all IQ tests are.

If your child has been recognised as bright and been pulled out for extra classes and what not whats wrong with leaving it as just that?

My eldest is on the G&T register (as opposed to me.. I'm just on the G&T) and it's got very little to do with IQ levels basically.

Your child would have had a psych assessment in school so I would ask the Head for more information.

IQ tests are done for children under 10 but you would need to go throu a child psych to get this done.. well that is how it was when my eldest was done.

You need to go to a Child Psychologist...and at over £100 a pop tbh it's really not worth it.

Mensa don't test before 10 years old as its inaccurate and a child can 'lose' any particular genius they might seem to have at an early age.

    For 10 years + Mensa!

what age is he ....wouldnt try and push a child  at a young age ..if he talented in one area might not be so good in another like the previous poster says ... just encourage them

My eldest son in gifted/talented in science and maths and often attends days and did a week long summer camp this year but just because they are gifted in one or two subjects doesnt make them ready for mensa! It may not even mean their IQ is high just that they have a natural aptitude for certian things - most that are good in science, maths etc usually aren't as brilliant in english for example. I think school need to be explaining it a bit better to you and I certainly wouldn't be testing IQ at the moment, just let him enjoy what he is doing.
