The second house I bought was an ex-council house but it was in a nice area in a little town and made me £50k in 1 year. It being an ex-council house wouldn't put me off, the area would.

If the only way you could afford to buy a house in a really good town with good schools, facilities and a good name and all was to stay out of the leafy suburbs and away from the character propertys or new builds and to buy an ex council on an estate instead, would you? What do you think are the pros and cons? Would you rather keep your nice house in a not so good area, or have the worst house in a very good area? (both of which go against the classic property phrase 'buy the worst house in the best area', as you can do it up lol)

Your opinions on whether you would BUY an ex council property pls!
