Ok, I was browsing, and I had this pop up telling me that I had a trojan. Everything went crazy.
I had a screen that said my security - anti virus - spy ware - firewall was all inactive. It was different to the screen that I usually see. Had I not known what my security page looked like, I would have been buggared.
On my tool bar, something kept flashing and a pop up kept telling me click here to instal virus protection. After a few moments the other page would pop up.
Known names for this nasty, evil little thing are - Win32 - trojanwinfixer - antivirusxp - antivirus2008 .
I ran my antiv more than once. The first time, it finished in 10 minutes. Usually it takes an hour.
It is a scam. It is a virus trying to take you.
Do not click onto these.
Run your own virus protection and any other protection you have and they will delete it.
I also noticed new pictures on my desktop. I deleted those - shortcuts to internet virus protection.
I went to add/remove and noticed new installed things for Internet explorer. Removed these. I noticed a new security alert and removed that.
I went to the start button, clicked the all programs bit, and noticed new stuff already mentioed, Removed that.
Finally I did a clean up scan from Windows.
Finally I was free.
If I had known what my security pages look like, I would now be infected.

Our firewall alerts us if a trojan attacks, and stops it.
our old computer was attacked and we lost EVERYTHING...all Callum'sbaby photos, all ourapplications....even the drivers for the peripherals.
The computer was buggered.
