Hi thanks for the replies, some sound some not lol. Not sure what to think about the place now argh.

I will be moving about 200 miles from my home town (near swansea) but about 18 miles from dh home town of rugby (l have lived in rugby).

For 6 yrs I lived in a village about 5 miles from Rothwell.  I don't know Rothwell particularly well, but it did seem quite nice on the surface.  Just a little rural village really.

In that north section of Northamptonshire there's lots of lovely villages and you're close to Kettering, Northampton and Market Harborough for shopping - although I will admit none are shopping mecca's by any stretch of the imagination!

I don't rate Kettering particularly highly, but then I guess it depends what you like.  It does have a good chinese restaurant though.

If you're used to a city, you might find it all a bit rural.  But if it's the country life you're after, you'll be moving to a very nice part of the country.  Good luck with your move.

hey i breifly lived in desborough  (next door to rothwell) up until about 2 months ago. ill be honest with you, just keep yourself to yourself and you shouldnt get any trouble as it is quite a rough little village. there was an armed robery in the nationwide there about 6 weeks ago. where are you living atm?

all I know about rothwell is jamie oliver said he has seen kids in orphanges in africa eat better the the kids in rothwell

His new programme is about him living with families there and watching there eating habits

Hiya, My DH grew up in a little village next to Rothwell called Braybrooke, he went to school in Rothwell. Think its quite nice lots of pubs a few little shops near MArket Harborough which is where main shops etc are. Dont really know what to tell you ive never heard a bad word against the area so if you like it there then great. let me know how you get on if you do mive ther.
