Thing is, this list is for someone else to pay for

www.britishcornershop.co.uk is what you need my love.
I use it all the time when I need a little bit of home.

lol. I guess because i've never been out of the country for more than a month, and never to *live* rather than just on holiday, I've never really thought about what you can and can't get in other countries that i take for granted here.

I know DR, and what I also need is this thread - because every time I say "ohhh, I can't think of anything really, don't worry" - and then a week later I'm cursing myself, "why didn't I ask for xxxx".

LOL, I was the same when I discovered a shop that sells cheddar. It's measly cheddar but hey, it's not rubbery, and it's not emmental.
I do miss the range of fruit and veg.

THis is why you need British friends and family to come visit you then JM!! When I went to America for a fortnight, I really missed my Cadburys chocs and chipshop chips - which is bizarre as I don't really have that much of those things here, but I know that I can get them when I want them, IYKWIM.

poor finlandUnique? Various products really are different but where Im from cooking styles are very different...fusion mostly. Im miss danone honey buzz yoghurt, musk sticks, the ice cream, locally grown watermelon, edible pumpkin, bbq sauce, different cereals, lots of things really. I almost cried when i found sakatas in tesco lol

What do you miss GKM, what's unique to OZ?
9/10/08 21:29
Depending on where you are indeed. A favourite quote of mine, from Jacques Chirac, "England has almost the worst food in Europe, second only to Finland".
There are no specialist shops here

9/10/08 21:26
lol JM - I think my years of eating in a hospital canteen warped my taste buds!
I would miss a lot if I no longer lived in the UK. But from the sounds of it there is a lot you can still get if you can get to a specialist store, depending on where you are.

lots JM

It won't work DR, I have a stomach of steel

9/10/08 21:22
this would never happen so i cant even begin to think about it!
9/10/08 21:21
Marmite spread thickly on cold toast, with a glass of milk. YUMMY!

9/10/08 21:13
Anything you miss *from* home?
9/10/08 21:08
Ive been racking my brains and theres nothing id hanker for when I return homw

*keeps thinking*
9/10/08 21:08
LOL, well I imagine it's a bit more technical - and hygienic - than that!
But still........yeuch. And people eat this stuff for breakfast?

9/10/08 21:06

tis yummy lol9/10/08 20:44
Would that be in the hand luggage or in the suitcase?
