Yes it is a lovely age isnt it? My friends just had a baby and i dont feel broody at all cos altho ds more work he's more fun. Hes starting to walk, and copy us now. Today i was feeding him bits of plum when he picked a bit up, smiled, fed it to me and laughed!! Then i was hiding his face under my jumper and pulling it off saying peekaboo and he held it over my face and laughed. Its sooo cute! You're lucky u have a girl tho id love to buy pretty dresses Dh happy its a boy tho as i saw a 50 quid party dress in monsoon and i told him if ds was a girl thats what he'd be wearing for his birthday party and we'd just have to starve for a week to pay for it I bet ur lo has a proper little personality now! I cant wait for whats to come with ds am so excited, and really looking forward to xmas this yr as he was only 2 mths last yr, altho i know he's gonna end up trying to climb the xmas tree and it'll go on his head - this already happens with our clothes horse (roll on moving into house when will have washing line which he wont reach for a few yrs!)

lol yes sorry ignore us please!

She's been cheeky from birth but she's got a cracking personality on her now and is a delight to be around. 11 months is such a lovely age, really starting to become a person rather than a baby now i bet.

I hated doing all the foreign and chaps payments too and why do people get defensive when u ask to see id? I was actually annoyed last week when drawing out money for our house sale in a building society when they said they didnt id as it was under 10k, but only a few thousand short, id not have been happy if they let someone who may have stolen my book walk out with like 5 grand!!! I hateed the big payins from big customers, we used to get a well known pizza delivery place pay in about 20 grand a week and 5 grand of it used to be in 5s!!!!!! Dont u hate how u could tell the smokers cos the mony stank? +) No i def would never go back and ds is only 11 mths and plan to stay home till he goes to school anyway, and see what happens with my health if im able to have another, if not will prob do volunatry work at our church playgroup and hospital to fit in around ds at school and as dh a teacher i dont wanna be working for 6 weeks while they're at the beach Do u like your new job then? How old r ur kids?

I used to top up my wages by doing saturday stints at the branch in my town (i worked out of town) and the saturday after id done one shift it got raided. I felt the raiders had locked everyone in the strong room, it was also an inside job, and id worked directly with the guy who was the inside man that saturday before again made me feel

We were just told to tighten up security procedures and that was that. Nothing more was done. Big pile of bollox really.

The branch i was in was mainly for business banking so we had so much money going in and out the branch we never got to go home on time what with cheques having to be processed before 7pm to go on peoples accounts in time! Had one guy come in with £20k in cash he'd withdrawn from another bank and brought to us...i was like, erm, thanks.....ive now got to do all the fraud checks on this much money, check its not been laundered check there are no duff notes in it....gee lovely!

Im a really obnoxious customer in banks though really truly awful

ooh i also used to hate making international money transfers. Customers are sooooooo impatient with them!

Were u there during a raid? They had one  at my branch after i left, my friend said it was quite surreal, and she actually went out of the area and into managers office and told our boss, theres a man wanting money, and she was like, er yes we're a bank thats what we do Im sure it wasnt funny at the time tho! I was chief cashier a few mths before i got preg and we had no staff (everyone kept leaving surprise surprise!) and i had one girl on the counter with me - so hectic and we werent allowed lunch breaks, then they wanted to know why we hadnt booked appointments?!? Er we served all the customers and ive been responsible for all the bills and cheques etc and over 100000 grand, dont u think as a chief cashier that my job not selling?!?! I wanted to leave anyway, as my bp had gone up (get it checked cos of my one poor kidney) and was so happy when did when 9 wks preg. Then my bp was way low. I seriously think had i carried on working there all the things outlined in my hig risk preg woulda happened. Would u work in bank again? Im glad i never took shares as profit share, just took the cash. Doubt they'll get progit share this yr Sorry for thread hijacking.

this is it it is a very stressful risky job (there were raids frequently happening in the area when i worked for a bank), i was a key holder and responsible for closing the branch, and did all the jobs you'd expect to do as a cashier. Yet the pay was disgusting.

Like you some customers were their own worst enemies and really didnt want to know about it if there was a way of helping them out the schtook

I know mia its horrible isnt it? I quit as soon as i found out i was preg as was high risk and didnt need the stress for what was crap money as well. Am sooo glad never going back. Altho ds can be just as stressful It used to upset me tho seeing how some people got taken advantage of bcause they knew nothing about finances. But then there others who were too stupid for their own good - one customer i had got charges every mth for going overdrawn due to his monthly SKY bill coming out. I said once maube he should cancel his sky subscription and he looked at me like i was mental. They're the people that annoy me and moan how unfair it all is tho. Im lucky as we can afford for me to be sahm, but thats cos we saved my wage instead of wasting it when i worked, and now we go without - we cant afford sky (altho dhs sis is an accountant for them so getting it free when we move house in 2 weeks ) Im trying to convince dh i need a hair cut, and dye as havent had it done for over a year and i wanna look nice for ds's first birthday (i dont have skanky roots or anything btw. just want a pick me up!) sorry for going on!

M2A i worked for a high street bank before having dd and it was all sell sell sell. One customer sticks in my mind. He had £100k on his barclaycard, and over £200k spread over various store cards. He paid off £1 a month onto each debt, had no hope of ever paying any of it back, was totally ineligible for a mortgage but had somehow been granted all this credit - i presume as a result of paying it all back at one point but then kept maxing his cards out.

Anyhoos, we kept getting pressure from above to sell this guy a mortgage to pay them off. It was disgusting.

    All of the below

People in general for the 'i want it now but dont have the money to buy it' materialism view, and the banks being greedy. I worked in a bank b4 having ds and hated it. I loved providing good service and helping customers but that was never recognised, only how many loan appointments for 'vulnerable' customers u could get booked in. My mum always says when her and dad first got married they didnt have a washing mashine, had to save up. Me and dh (only 26!) live like that too tbh, as our parents did, we don't buy what we cant afford, and only use credit card when we know we can pay it off in full. People wonder why they have no money but a lot of friends i have moan they have no money, but have new clothes, dvds, cds, tvs and go to the cinema all the time?! I've always been a saver, ever since i had pocket money. Feel unsafe with no 'rainy day fund.'

tbh when you look at the fact the goverment is still paying off debts from the early 20th century and has no hope of ever being solvent...(as in this country) then, erm, can you really blame the public for following suit?

    ignored

is it our live  with credit cards maxed, house mortaged to the hilt society, 125% mortages, way of life?

is it the fault of the greedy bankers who offer these things while not making sure the people who takes these can afford to pay?.

Is it the goverment maybe if they had of stood in earlier it may have been averted?.

Are you tempted to pull your saving out of troubled banks or are you shaking with fear because your mortage is with a bank that seems to be in trouble?.

are you beginning to find the whole thing a little scary as it seems to be getting more out of control every day?
