i hate hate hate ear peircings for young children. its so wrong and utterly pointless. my child is beautiful and doesnt need bits of metal sticking in her.
even worse on boys. yucky yuk yuk

I had mine done when i was about 9 months old. That was some years ago now. But wouldnt allow dd to have hers done until about 11 i think. I think the choice should be hers, not mine, unlike my mum.

DD1 (7 in Oct) has been asking me since she was 4 - but she also wants a mobile phone and a pony

can't really see how piercing your nose could paralyse your face, lol! i got mine done and it was over in a second and didn't even hurt. i'd let my dd's get that when they were 16.

When dd has been asking consistently for a whole year and knows the full implications of what it entails then i'll let her. So far she's been asking about her ears for 2 months now...ARGH

I dont get this boys not being allowed but girls are surely it dosnt matter if the parent particulary likes it its the child who wants it? as long as they are old enough for you to be happy with the age whats the gender got to do with it

I will never 'allow' ds 8 to have his ear pierced as i personally dont like it on boy's or even men. If dd 5 want's her's done then it'l be when she's 8 or so but no younger.

What age would you allow your children to have piercings? Is there any age you'd consider to be too young?
