Cheers everyone for posting back lots of things I'll try. After posting yesterday I wenrt and pick Emily up from fun club and spent a lovely day went to my mums flower shop and walked home though the park as Emily wanted to jump in puddles she had a bad and was totally wet through even the inside of her wellies where wet had the sense to put her trainers in my bag walk to the swing park and played. Went home and got changed and had fun in the garden then when DH came home he suggested going out for dinner to a lovely hotel that has a great family area and sat outside for dinner and topped it off on with an icecream down the beach on the way home. it really made me feel better about things suppose its really me thats going to need to get her head round another baby coming not really emily. When emily arrived i decided to go back to work pt so i could spend more time with her and that time i decided was to do fun things with not just the housework. I'll just need to learn how to do the fun things with two los soon. Thanks all love Lizann xx

yep well my older 2 anyway. i have Jack who is nearly 12 and Laurenwho is nearly 10 and Matthew who is nearly 3. obviously the older understand. dd is very excited, ds said "Why do you wnat another!!" typical male statement lol and Matthew doesnt understand we will talk more to himnearer the time xx

ds is obly nearly 18 months so doesnt really understand but keep tellin him hes havin a baby n will take him to scans n midwife appointments so he involved too

my dd knows but shes only 2 years and 8 months-i know she sa bit young but she seems ok with it. She didnt mention it for a while after we told her but then out of the blue yesterday she said "mummy you have baby in your tummy" awwww it was so sweet!

She will be coming to the 1st scan with me and the oh. x

We told James as soon as we knew (he's 4 in Aug) as we wnat him involved in everything so he'll be coming with us to scans etc

He keeps kissing & cuddling my belly

i've told all 3 of my girls Tia 8 got excited and told her entire class plus the lady in the office.Holly 6 just hugged me like i was made of fine china and lily 3 came in yanked up my t shirt shoved her finger in my belly button and told my friend that mummy had a baby in there and that was where daddy put it lol. Lily had been telling me for weeks before she knew that in my tummy i had a baby a slide a ball and a bear which i found a bit freaky but hey. Everyone worried about how lily would take it but so far she seems fine it's holly i worry about. She cried about an hr after she was told saying she thought something was wrong which we reassured her everything was fine and had a big cuddle. The following night she asked to know more so we sat looking through emmas diary at the pictures of babies at different wks and i drew lol pictures of how u got a baby etc and again she seemed fine more than happy.She's taken to kissing my belly too but tonight she is staying my sister which she loves and wanted to do but within minutes of me leaving she was on the phone in tears but said she didn't know why but she didn't want to come home and she missed me. Holly actually nagged me for another baby and now she seems to be struggling with the idea but then i know she doesn't cope well withchange and maybe it's that i now feel really guilty and i dunno what to do. She wasn't like this when i had lily but she was younger then shaz 14+4

my Cameron only turns 2 in 3 weeks, so he doesnt quite understand yet obviously. I hope he takes it all well though when the baby is born xx

i told my older too a while ago (14& 11) due to sickness they wanted to know what was going on but the younger two (6& were told after 12 wk scan

We told Tia after i had my scan and saw the heartbeat, as i have a bump already i didn't want her to find out from anyone else. Within a day everyone knew, even the lollipop lady from school lol.

When i was pregnant with Jaida, Tia had been an only child for almost 4 years so we were worried how she would cope. We made sure that we involved her in everything, we took her to all the scans and made sure she came to the hospital before anyone else. We also bought her a present from Jaida which we put in the hospital cot. Also we thought it was a good idea if i wasn't holding Jaida when Tia 1st came in so that i could give her all of my attention. They are very close and get on brilliantly together, apart from Jaida pulling Tias hair all of the time, lol.

i have told my daughter but only because she was telling everyone that i was having a baby before she had even been told!!! it kinda freaked me out!! she is sooo excited really wants a brother so i have my fingers crossed but i have tried to explain that she cant choose the sex of the baby but she is only 4 and she doesnt seem to understand that. she has also been telling me often that am having 2 babies i did have a scan at 8 weeks but that cant alway determine how many babies i think one would be enough i would be really scared if she was right lol tc everyone xxxxxxxxxxx

i told my ds whos 4 after i had the first emergency scan n seen the hb, hes been to the last 2 ones with me and keeps elling every1 'im having a baby and im going to call it lilly mai' hes convinced its gonna be a girl.

kisses my tummy everyday when i drop him off to school, i had the 'but how did it get in there' question so i distracted him with sweets lol!!

yes - my youngest who is 3 said he wants a baby just like theos (a friend of his at playgroup who has a baby sister that is 6 weeks old) then he said lets have 2 babies

my eldest who is 7 said if its a girl can we call her marge (from the simpsons)

there both boys and it seems like they both want a sister

i havent told my ds, he was 3 in march, it jus that it will be such a long time for him, im plannin on tellin him after 20weeks scan altho we have begun introducing the idea to him!

Nope - they're 6 & 7. We'll tell them after my 20 week scan and hopefully then we can say we're having another brother come near Christmas lol

I don't think that you can do much whilst baby is inside you but reassure her and give her lots and lots of love - but when baby arrives make sure that when she visits you in hosp/ sees baby for first time that you have a present for her from baby - a lot of people do that and it does seem to help x

yes, my eldest lydia, 3 wants to know when we r going to the baby shop! i told her i am going to grow the baby in my tummy but she said "oh mummy, ur silly!" xxx
