I'm not going to have the tests, In South Tyneside you have to pay of want nuchal fold test done and I wouldn't risk amniosyntesis (sp?). Wouldn't alter course of pregnancy anyway so I'd rather not have the anxiety if results came back high.

just checked my notes that section has been left blank and they have only tick the dating scan bit im confused Im sure we asked for it but my booking apt when I had my 12wk scan felt soo rushed they said in the letter it would tke about 2hrs but i had scan and apt with mw all done in 30mins the mw was just firing questions at me at a rate of knots.  not that it will make any difference but i'll would of like it done just so if the risk was high we could get the support we need.

My hubby is a clinical psychologist specialising in learning disablities so says as my risk was low with Emily it will only go up slightly due to my age now but still.

Ahh right. I had my results back and they just said low, I didn't get an odds figure. The results wouldn't have changed anything for us but we wanted an indication if we would need to prepare ourselves for any additional care bubs might need.

This assessment is for women who wish to have a screening test for the prediction of a baby with Down's Syndrome. The test combines the woman's age, the measurement of 2 proteins (biochemical markers) in the mother's blood and a measurement of the skinfold behind the baby's neck at 11 and a half to 14 weeks' of pregnancy. If you are expecting twins then the Down's risk is calculated from the nuchal ultrasound measurement and the mother's age alone.

    googled it
