im a yellow bumo and was very disappointed that i couldnt find out i really want to know but i wont pay for a private scan as the money can go to better use! everyone loves the fact that its a surprise dp said "YES" when the midwife said she couldnt tell and everyone else laughed at me

im yellow too, have had moments where i wished i knew but deep down i cant wait for the surprise!! My mum and dad however were somewhat disappointed saying thses days its so easy to find out im really surprised you didnt want to know etc etc. We have chosen some bright colours for nursery which should suit either boy or girl, so excited cant wait to get the furniture in and get it all sorted in next couple of weeks!!!

Im also yellow
thought about finding out but to me it take sthe excitment out it all!! and even if we did find out we'd no doubt be the unlucky 1's who got told the wrong sex!!

Hi im in the yellow club too! i already have a 3yrold son but i really dont mind what the sex is. im thinking it may be another boy, as there are lots of boys in our family, and i suppose i really am geared up for everything boy, got all his tiny blue clothes and stuff left. but who knows, thats the best thing about waiting ! my mum went a bit mad at me for not finding out but hey ho, im the one whos having the baby not her! x x x x

Torjo, I was so furious with her! If my ds and dd hadnt been in the room i would have told her to stuff her present!

People just dont seem happy for me not to find out, i have no idea why
So many people think i have found out and just keepin it secret,

Emily - is your friend having a laugh! Does she really think that you should make an important personal decision like whether to find out the sex of the baby just to make her shopping a bit easier?!! Some people huh...
We've found that people have been ok with it. They sometimes say 'but didn't you want to know' but seeing as the answer is no (obviously!) they tend to drop it after that. Maybe it's just because none of our friends are planning to buy any presents

What sorts of responses are you all getting from people? I must say so many people have been very -ve of me not finding out
I had one friend say she needed to know otherwise she wouldnt have a present ready for 'it' and I would have to wait a few months cos she cant just buy presents whenever, due to finances

We're find that people can't believe that we didn't find out! We have got a great line though - when people ask if we know what we're having we look a bit shocked and say 'A baby hopefully!' Gets them every time...

we have a yellow bump too!!! we did ask what it ws but they couldnt see so there we are! was dissapointed at 1st but now i dont mind!

I'm a yellow bump too - nursery is creams and lemons with classic winnie the pooh bedding, curtains etc & I have far too many neutral clothes but love them all so will still use them even once we have boy or girl clothes!

yellow bump for me too!! I am so excited, I had a little wobble around 21 weeks where I thought 'should i find out?' but I am so glad I never. I found out with my dd and ds, so decided this time to do it differently and have the surprise at the end.

I too have a yellow bump, although I have a hunch it is a boy, no reason really just guessing. Am looking forward to spending loads of money on pink or blue clothes once it's born x

im glad i have a yellow bump now it stops me spending loads on dresses or trousers lol im really looking foward to the surprise my birthing partner is worse than me she wants to find out now but i said no lol

i love having a yellow bump, i am so excited to find out on the day when baby is here, we have just done our nursery in browns and teddy's. i love it. i will see if i can get a pic of it.
4/10/08 17:05
We agree, our nursery is in creams and beighs (sp) with white furniture and all the clothes are the same. As i've said before to us finding out is like having a peek at your christmas prezzies then wrapping them back up!!!!
I love surprisses!!!! And we love spending agers trying to figure it out lol

its exciting, not knowing.
with having a c section obviously i will be given date so will know when baby will be here but still ahve the excitement of finding out on the day what the baby is.
and recieveing loadsof colourful gifts lol
i think i would regret finding out, my wardrobe is full of whites and creams lol, but i love ickle babies in white sleepsuits for bed, so once ive managed to get out shopping for blue or pink afterwards the white sleepsuits will still be used etc.
so excited, can still have the boy/girl debates with everyone.

Hi fellow yellows - it's quite exciting not knowing I think, and it keeps everyone guessing - they're running a poll on me in my work !!! I wonder what the final tally of DIJers will be - more boys or more girls ?

I'm very much one of life's planners and usually hate surprises so everyone is quite shocked I don't want to know but for me it's more important that my baby is healthy.
We too have had the shopping comments but hello?!?!? this is my body!!!!! Not some soap opera for others to be gripped to! I hear enough inappropriate comments as it is regarding my size/shape, my boobs and breat-feeding abilities, conception timing (it's a honeymoon baby) whether we still have sex and if this was a mistake/accident! My general answer to it all is "bog off" (or worse depending on my mood)!
I like to think that there are so few true surprises left in life that it's good not to know, I want the only surprise I get to be the sex of my baby - not complications or difficult hospital staff
