Hi - the consultant appointment was a waste of time - i was kept waiting for an hour and then didn't even see the consultant - saw her registrar who took my blood pressure, tested my urine, had a quick chat about my previous depression and then told me she didn't need to see me again and that i could just go back under midwife care - i was secretly hoping that she would listen for the heartbeat but she said there was no need as i had heard it the day before with my midwife.  So all in all a bit disappointing - I am pleased that there are no problems and that she doesn't need to see me again, but it just all seemed a bit pointless!! never mind!!!

I saw the midwife today and was very pleased to hear a healthy heartbeat.  I had a bleed at 12+3 just before the scan and at the scan all was fine.  But it was still a niggle and it was lovely to hear everything was still well.

saw the midwife today, got the results of my blood tests from booking in appointment - fine for iron, thyroid [which is good as I am on thyroxine], immune from rubella and don't have hepatitis or HIV [not really surprised at that result!] AND I got to hear Baby D's hb, it was lovely, recorded it on my mobile for dp to hear.  Midwife had no trouble finding it but I don't think I'm gonna get a doppler coz if I couldn't find it I would just worry so much.  xxx

ahhh lynne bless you!! well good luck for today - i have my consultant appointment today but don't think it will be anything exciting, doubt i will get a scan or anything like that - but will be nice to hopefully get some reassurance - all i can think about now are my blood screening results (downs) which i should get next week - so worried about it!!! hope it all goes well today and let us know how you get on! x

Last weekend i went shopping in asda, went to use my chip and pin. I could of cried with frustration because i had completely forgot my number. It took me almost 10 mins. I just wanted to run and hide!!!! Good luck for today and keep us posted on how you got on!!! xxxx

itchycat - so sorry about not being in touch - have sent you a message hun xx

i am exactly the same as you - anxious all the time and always thinking the worst - i don't think i am ever going to change so just have to accept that this is the way i am!! i am sure the midwife will be able to hear the heartbeat for you on your visit and that will definately reassure you xx

cherrystilettos, iv been really worried about you, i added a thread for you to get in contact with me. Sorry for sounding like a stalker but i hadnt seen you on here for a while so i was starting to worry. Iv not been treated for depression in the past but i do suffer with extreme anxiety. Luckily im over the worst of it.  But since the day i found out i was preggers my whole life has changed. I worry so much that something is or will go wrong. When i had my scan the other week it was amazing, i felt a lot more reassured but now becuse i have no symptoms im begining to worry again. Iv got the mw on friday it was suppose to be my 16 wk check up but i will only be 13+6. im rather hoping i will still be able to hear the babes heart beat as i do need some reassurance right now!! Glad your ok, was starting to worry about you!!! Hormomes!!! lol xxxxx

Hi all, back from the midwife, shes finally referred me to the consultant which i have to phone and book myself after going to check and book, but because i'll have a consultant appt, my next appt with her will be october . I was also informed you only get 1 anti D injection now which is a double dose at 28 weeks instead of 1 at 28 and 1 at 34 weeks..apparently they have only just stopped the 2 injections, so mine will be on 12th December. All my bloods are normal and was told 1.5mm nuchal fold was good so bloods should be ok when i get them back next week. Hope everyone elses appointments went ok.

hi!! i have just returned from my 16 week check up with the midwife too - was so worried and nervous and couldnt sleep last night - but she found the heartbeat straight away - the relief was immense!! it sounded like a little train!! had my bloods done as i am having the screening done, but praying it is low risk as i do not want to have an amnio either - let me know how your appointments all went x

Hoop - I have also suffered from depression in the past and I am under consultant care because of it to give me extra reassurance etc - and I have been a wreck throughout this whole pregnancy as I have been bleeding and had to have lots of scans etc - i often feel like the depression is coming back aswell and it is a constant battle to try to stay positive xx
