When i had my 12 wk scans with Bubs and also with my DD, i was told I had a tilted uterus......All that was said was that it made it harder to see baby on the scan. Is this a retrospective uterus? Is it the same thing?

I have this too. It causes a few probs with smears as my cervix doesnt sit where it is meant to and also in early pregnancy it causes me lots of pain as the pressure on the bowles is ouch.. but after a certain stage io am ok and it tilits forward into a normal position... so my scans have been ok and he has been seen clearly so far at all of my scans.. 7 weeks internal 11+6 nt plus all clear and 15 weeks (reasurrance late loss earlier this year). but uterus that tilt back are normalish i wouldnt worry and i have carried 2 children fine so far.

Dont worry this is very common, approx 40-50% of us have this.
For me it just means a bit of an uncomfortable smear test and tampons can be uncomfy as well (o goddy dont have to worry about either of these for a while) and as the other lady mention a bit sore if consitpaed and trying to pass no.2's
The degree of inversion can also vary and if you have never noticed any uncomfort you are probably only mildy effected.

Yep I've got this. It hasn't caused any probs apart from pain in uterus area when have bad wind or need #2 (sorry tmi). I think its because it rests on the bowel area and is irritated when something is going on!! Apparently its quite common! x

ive just got back from my scan and in my notes it says ive got a retroverted uterus. it meant that again they couldnt get a clear picture and said i propbably wont untill my 20 week scan :-(. does anyone else suffr from this????

I have retroverted womb too and during my 11 th weeks scan the ultrasonografer lady couldn't take a clear picture of my baby which was very disapponting
Another thing is, that my tummy is tiny even though I'm 16 weeks pregnant. Do you think it's beacuse of the shape of the womb??I don't know, but I'm a bit concerned
