The angelsounds is a brilliant doppler - I never have any trouble finding the heartbeat - if you do what pp have said you should be fine - good luck x

Allison, I don't have this doppler (I have the Hi Bebe) but I found that a full bladder helps. Also, my baby has only just moved out of my bikini line a few weeks ago so I agree that you should start on your bikini line, move to the left or right very slowly then upwards until you hear something and use lots of gel. Also, if you are not sure that what you are hearing is the baby, look on youtube or something and compare the sound, this is what I did the first time I used mine and wasn't 100% sure.

I also have the stabbing pains, I googled this and apparently it's the uterus stretching.

I'm sure all is well hun x

I find mine really easy to use and have not yet had a problem finding my lo's heartbeat.

I lie on my back - usually after my shower or bath  - and pop the doppler onto my tummy. Baby seems to like being down at the left hand side, but have also heard it on the right. You sometimes have to push down a bit - especially if you have a remainder of a muffin top like me! or angle the doppler around to catch it.

The baby's heartbeat is about double the speed of your own. The slow beat you hear is your own heartbeat, because you have arteries that run down into your legs and internal organs in that area. Its good if you can hear your own heartbeat - at least you know you're still alive - lol!! Then you have a marker to compare the baby's heartbeat with.

Take your time, turn the volume up a reasonable way and just go slowly. Also, at this stage, the baby isn't necessarily too high, so start just above your pubic hairline and woork along that level.

I'm sure you'll find it evenutally - sometimes baby hides a bit so it can be difficult to hear.

Hi all I have an angel sounds doppler too and I am so confused by it. I have been listening to what I thought was the hb for a few weeks now it was a steady beating noise not as fast as I thought it was then tonight I had another go I could hear the steady beat and then I found a really fast one, almost double that of the other noise which once could the hb be.

On a plus side when I was pushing the doppler onto my belly before I am convinced I felt a kick in the place where the doppler was could that have happened. That is the first movement I have felt.

Hiya hun, I'm sorry I don't know how to use but didn't want to read and run, I know a few people have this doppler as I remember reading threads so hopefully someone will be able to help you!

I've also not been feeling movements today or for the last 3 or 4 days! I've had slight little movements yesterday  ( or what feels like them ) but can't be sure thats what they are so i've been stressed too! I first felt movements at 17 weeks but instead of getting stronger i'm not even sure I can feel them anymore! My scan is tomorrow and it can't come soon enough! I'm also trying to get a doppler of ebay and was just about to post a thread asking if the angelsounds is any good so if it is good let me know! x

i use oil as its better than water. put it on the small circle bit and i find it works best when lying down. i put mine on loudest setting and move it slowly over ur belly. my babies hb is still low and not as high as belly button. it sometimes takes a while to find it but good luck and enjoy it xx

I have one, it takes about 5 mins to find the heart beat but after few times it gets easier. put some gel on the doppler  and first listen to your own heart between your boobs or near your bellybutton, then  start low down near the top of your bikini line and just slowly move the doppler round until you find beans heart- you will need it on quite loud otherwise its not that easy to spot!

Its a really good one so you should have no probs! Good luck!!!
