It depends whos runing them I think...
I was never taken by the idea of the NHS "Parentcraft" ones and have not heard any good reports about them whereas have heard lots of good stuff about NCT though they do cost...
I went for relaxation antinatal last time ran by hospital and they were quite good....
I guess its alot to do with the kind of birth you had last time (if you are a repeat mum) and what kind of birth you want this time!
Im a big advocate for active births and limited intervention and pain relief - I think most people at my anti natal last time thought i was insane....
lol

I did with my first and met some wonderful girls who I'm still mates. When we were on maternity leave we would take it in turns to host a meet up once a week. Even now wwe do lots together with the kids and without! They are also great babysitters!
I'm not going to antinatal classes second time round. I will be joining local mother and baby groups once my baby is here - its great to meet other mums who have babies of the same age.

is anyone gonna go to anti-natal classes. i had dd october 2005, tried booking some sessions at the hospital in the august and was told they were booked up till end on november so i didnt bother having any.
was thinking about this time round. do people only attend when its their first pg to know what to expect? its not like ive forgotton what to do lol, but thinking it might be nice to socialise with other pg ladies in the area

I went with ds last year to the NHS Parentcraft ones and really enjoyed them. But the mw that ran them was brilliant so that helped. Even dp who was really dreading going looked forward to them.
I met quite a few women there that I still keep in touch with now after meeting them out at baby groups etc so the social aspect of it is great. There was only 1 woman in our class that had a baby before and she only went along as it was her partners first time. They really dont tell you anything you dont already know if you've been through it before.
There are plenty of other antenatal groups you could join Crazybunny. In my area they do breastfeeding workshops for expectant mothers, antenatal exercise (I'm going to do the yoga soon), and quite a few others that I can't remember off the top of my head (mainly because they didn't appeal to me). Ask your mw.
