hi there, i think this thread is great
I have the same thing happen I read in my pg book that regular 'O' helps to get the blood to the baby and its normal for your tummy to go hard or a bit achey..........Like the other ladies said you cant bring on labour until your ready or if there is a medical reason........Dont worry . Sarah 19+2

i think this is in the pregnancy book we get given. Its normal!I def read it somehwhere recently.I get quite bad belly ache sometimes, and belly goes hard too,but passes not long after.Oh another one of the joys during pregnancy lol

All normal - the same as if you breastfeed while pregnant - basically Oxytocin is released through milk let down or orgasm and that tells the Uterus to contract - BUT unless you are full term the Uterus has protective hormones that stop it from responding properly to the Oxytocin so you just get the odd Braxton....
This is why when you are due or from 38 weeks onwards they say that sex and nipple stimulation can bring on labour - because the uterus is fully responsive to the Oxytocin.
That is the gist of it anyhow! So unless you have a high risk pregnancy it is perfectly fine to have sex or Breastfeed whilst pregnant.

Yeah is normal. The orgasm contracts the uterus making it hard - Apparently it sends blood to the uterus too which can give lo a buzz too!!!

I think that's quite normal, I seem to remember it from last time - have not had it happen for a while so can't comment on this pregnancy

im going to ask the question on here because i dont think i can bring myself to ask mw i would be soooooooooooooooooo embarrassed lol
when me an dp have sex, and i have a orgasm it sets of braxton hicks, is this normal? ive heard sex can help bring on labour when your due but why does this happen now
please let me know if im being an extreme dunce and asking the stupidest qs eva! lol

i asked my midwife about this, she said sex WONT bring on labour unless your cervix is ready so it doesnt pose a risk of premature delivery!! The pains and cramps are perfectly normal
