    Hi ladies,

Wel tghats the first day of work out of the way & it wasn't as bad as I thought! I cried a bit when Sophie went to my mums this morning but she had a great day & missed her loads. Angela I'm the same as you with the house situation but you work round with what you have got. Helen hope you get the house you are after,do you have a 2 bedroom at the minute as well?

    Hope you are all well.

    I'm fine thanks Helen.

Christophers room is just done in a green paper with flowery border.  Was the spare room/dumping ground before we had him and we didn't bother redecorating, thought we'd wait til he was older.  Still not sure how I'm going to fit another cotbed and a chest of drawers in there though!  Think the computer desk will have to be dismantled as we don't use it now and it takes up loads of space.  If we have another boy they can have bunkbeds when they're older.  If we have a girl then we'll have to move in the future at some point as it's only a 2 bedroom house.

    Morning ladies,

Nik I think beatrix potter is a lovely theme for a nursery. It's a good learning tool for your baby too as the pictures are quite detailed and I read that, that helps your baby learn? Anyway, I'd love to decorate a nursery for Cole, he is coming up 13 months and is still in with us! The room that was supposed to be his is my dps gym and there's no where else to put stuff. Think we'll have to wait til we get a bigger house! So that will be fun when this baby comes and all 4 of us are in the same room and everyone gets woken up every feed time!! Arrggg!

Have got my eye on a place though.....I'm hoping to move before I get too pregnant to help!!

Anyhoo, where is everyone else?? Angela, teardrop etc....you all ok?

    Hi Nik,

I don't blame you for having to go back to work after 6 mths thats a hefty mortgage you have! & a very demanding job you deserve a medal!

I keep getting trapped wind it is so painful! anyone else like this?

As Sophie is still a baby her nursery is still quite new & has only been it herself nearly 2 months so the new baby will have to share a room with her at about 6 mths. It is neutral with teddy's wash day theme from mothercare so if we have a boy it wont matter about the colour.

I hope your son gets the results he wants & you enjoy your holiday. Madrid sounds lovely. Hopefully your sickness will have eased off by then & you can enjoy eating again.

    Hi Helen, Kerriann

I'm so pleased the baby's ok Kerriann, I've been thinking about you over the last few days wondering if we'd have bad news. What a relief!

I just thought I'd pop back and say hi before I go off. I'm not leaving until Tuesday - we're going to Madrid.

I have just been reading what you have been saying about work. I work as a housing officer at the moment, which is quite full on as I manage inner London council flats with plenty of anti-social behaviour and home visits galore!! What am I gonna do at 8 months?

Well i'll be going back full time and leaving babs with a childminder at 6 months as the maternity pay stops then and I need every penny of my salary. The idea so upsets me though. My partner earns around the same as me but we bought a house last year and the mortgage is over £1000 a month. It's all a bit scary. That is more scary than labour for me...

Helen you are soooo lucky you can eat curry. I'm dying to eat a proper meal and keep it down. Today I decided to treat myself to a pizza with pepperoni and spinach and boy was that a huge mistake - violent sickness followed and that leaves me with headache and starvation...

Anyway enough griping about myself. We are all in the same boat. A good thing is that I'm going with my son to a local college for a interview for his A levels tomorrow. I can't wait until he gets his GCSE results next week, well we'll be away so we'll have to wait until the end of the month.

I was just thinking about nursery colours today. I know it's unoriginal but I love the whole Beatrix Potter theme. What about you, any ideas. What are you all doing are you having a nursery straight away?

    Well bye for now xx

    Niki

An evening job would be ideal doesn't matter what you do as long as your happy doing it. I'm a receptionist in a head office Bank so at least I will be sitting down for the most part lol I'm sure after 1 day working it will be like I never left!

Well I never had any afterpains after having Cole? Think I was very lucky with everything to do with Cole! Will be expecting the worst this time and anything else is a bonus! lol!

I know my mum would love to give up work and be my full time babysitter! lol! But she wouldn't be able to cope with 2 either. I was thinking about getting a weekend or evening job but by the time I get one now I'll be off having another baby! Will probably get one after this baby though. Will need the extra money as we plan to get married before we have anymore. I'd love to work in a pub a few nights a week, just for the social side of it really. That's what I used to do before, I  worked my way up to being a manager before realizing it was no place to be if I wanted a family. So I was working in call centres where the money and hours were better. What job do you do?

    Morning ladies

Helen I didnt mean to scare you! the afterpains are what you get after having your baby, your uterus contracting back to it's normal size. I was in agony after my section but they gave me really strong pain killers in the hospital & some to take home with me.

Your mum had a quick labour with you so hopefully you will be the same!

I suppose your right about having a bit of normality back being at work even tho it will only be for a few months lol my mum will be minding Sophie until she can't cope looking after her lol then she will be in nursery. I'm not really sure what  I'm going to do about work after I have this baby tho as my mum wouldn't be able to cope with 2, I'll just take each day as it comes I suppose.

I wont beable to sleep tonight thinking about work tomorrow but I was like that anyway every sunday night lol

    Good morning all!

My mum was telling me that she was only in labour with me for an hour and a half.....I was her second baby. Kerriann, what do you mean about afterpains?! I'm scared now!

Your working hours don't sound so bad. At least you will get a bit of normalness to your life! A bit of time just for you, albeit at work. I don't get much of that myself so..... And at least you will get a bit more used to leaving Sophie so you'll be toughened up ready for when she has to go to school. Will your mum be having her all the time when you're at work?

I suppose I'm not worried about labour as will prob end up with c-section again! but you usually have a quicker labour second time round it's just the after pains that are worse!

will be starting work @ 7.30 - 4pm from Monday to Wednesday & off Thur & Friday!

then the week after that we have a bank holiday so will just be working the Tue & Wed lol. I have just been sorting out some clothes, changing bag etc to leave at my mums house for when she is minding Sophie while I'm at work

I hope I will feel better after my scan, I do think about the labour now and then anyway but today was just kind of out of the blue?

So what kind of hours will you be working when you go back?

Thats exactly what I'm doing too Helen! only dh has suggested that he go to Tesco on his own as the rain is so bad then we are off to my mums later. Ikwym about the realisation of having bubs setting in, I got it when I was waiting for my san the other day! It's normal to feel like that & when you see your baby on the scan you will feel excited!

Hi Kerriann, well I have an exciting day of food shopping and visiting family planned (yawn). How about you?

Just wondered as well.....has anyone else had this?.......

This morning I was sat in the garden just daydreaming about my bean, thinking about my scan next friday and how 'real' it's all becoming. Suddenly I was thinking about labour and having flashbacks to my labour with Cole and I started to really panic!

    Good morning ladies, hows everyone?

I'm glad to know it's not just me being silly with the babysitters. I just feel that I know what he wants and needs and other people don't really. I think once he can talk and say what he wants I'll be dumping him on everyone for a night on the town! lol!

Well my mum was going out last night so we decided to go out for an early dinner and take Cole with us. I didn't really want to go and the place we went to wasn't very nice the last time we went but we had a great time! Cole was an angel and the food was delicious! I had a curry which is one of the only hot meals I can stomach atm so I was very full and feeling satisfied by the end of it all. Cole had his first pub food.....spag bol and garlic bread and he loved it!

    Hi ladies,

Angela sorry to hear your feeling down, do you think it could be your hormones making you feel like this? I remember crying my eyes out for ages when I was pregnant with Sophie & just felt so depressed but it passed! We are here for you if you ever need a chat. I got my uniform today fom work & bought new trousers & shoes & I could see people looking at my belly & their brains ticking lol

Lol at your mum Helen good for her! Maybe we will go out clubbing when our kids are older too then we wont be worrying about getting a baby sitter for them!

Where are you off to then Helen? Rachel have a great girly night.

I am so tired would love to have a nap but Sophie is wide awake so no chance lol

H everyone.  Sorry I haven't been on much this week, been feeling really down to be honest.  Don't know why.  Feel a bit better today.

Kerriann - I sympathise with you going back to work.  I couldn't do it, handed my notice in when Christopher was 10 months old.  Money would be nice though.

Helen - I never leave Christopher with anyone either.  Mum & Dad babysat twice for us to go out since he was born!  Mum was really nervous when he was little so didn't like to ask her, she's better now he's older.  She's ok with him while I go to the dentist etc

Rachel - hope your driving test goes ok.  I failed twice but been driving 11 years now - Helen it makes me feel okd too, lol.

Been ok weather today so got lots of washing dried.  Typically I haven't managed to get the bedding & towels done so they'll probably end up in the dryer when they are the things that take the longest!
