My MW tried but it was too early (turned out I was only 8 weeks though). She said they can't hear it before 12 weeks (although I guess some do, the MW won't check before then). I had a doppler with dd and didn't pick it up until around 18 weeks

I was stressing the last few days so rang the maternity unit as advised and they said come on in - we should be able to hear the baby at 14 weeks easily (and they did) so maybe they can hear it earlier? - I think it helps hearing it earlier if you are slimmer - that's what I have heard or read somewhere - dont know if its true? - but dont want to offend anyone. i'd probably ask the midwife anyway and see what she says (only cos i just can't wait lol!). last time i had an early scan at 8 weeks and then they cancelled my 12 week one, so i got the midwife to listen for a heartbeat at 12 weeks so i could have peace of mind. she found it really easily, but i would've been pretty worried if she hadn't...

All depends on ur size hon and what ur mw is like when u ask most say no as its very early, i have a doppler and found mine at 9+6 weeks so when i saw my mw i asked her and she listened and got it but she said its only cause she knows me she tried as dont usually bother till 15 weeks ish good luck hope she says yes but dont be alarmed if she does and cant find it x
