Oh, no not having gtt. Mind you, my BMI will shoot up if dd was anything to go by (I put on 4 stone, and I wasn't exactly a supermodel to begin with) not sure why. Its a struggle with weight for me, I had only just got down to a 12/14 when I got preg this time!! Will have to make a concerted effort after bubs is born. I have always been a bit overweight, particularly as a child lost a lot when I was about 17 and managed to stay a size 12 for a few years. My dd seems to have inherited dh's metabolism (tall and thin despite eating everything in sight!! ) whereas I eat decidely less and still get fat!! Oh well, I have a wonderful hubby and daughter so it really hasn't affected my life that much. Maybe we should look into some post natal exercise classes!!
No, mine was just a repeat of the booking in bloods as my midwife misplaced them!! Bless, she is 32 weeks preg herself!! We decided against the screening test.
I suppose there's good and bad everywhere. I work in care and whilst most of the people I work with have a caring attitude there are some who are absolutely shocking. I had one hauled up on disciplinary as we had a lady who literally had hours left to live and when I did handover (after having looked after her all night) and explained the need to turn her every hour and swab mouth (to keep her comfortable) she responded with "why bother if she's dying?" !!!!! on another occassion she moaned about having to change someone and how much work they were IN FRONT of the person in question. Why do the job???
My due date is 14th March. Can't believe how quick its going!! The last two months have flown by so fast xxx

GTT is the glucose tolerance test for gestational diabetes?? Maybe I get one cos I am fat! One day I will be a size 10 again, I will, I will ............................

I didn't get weighed at my booking in as it was done at home, I just told MW my weight, but when I went for the blood test after scan I'm sure she wrote my weight on the blood test bag?? It was for combined screen that is done alongside the nuchal - is that what you had? I think they sent the bloods to Portsmouth.
I can't believe the path nurse made a comment like that about your arms, that is outrageous! Seriously if you are going to be like that you are in the wrong job? it's a shame as the majority of health professionals are really friendly (as you need to be working with people!) but I do distinctly remember the path nurses, one in particular being very miserable! This was going back to 2004 though!!
What is your due date? Mine is 7 March

Sorry being thick don't know what GTT is? Yes those path lab women are miseries!! Also they are always very unsympathetic to me as I have (very old, over 10 years ago but still visible) self harm scars (after a v traumatic event years ago) so I always get some nasty comment like "oh, well we don't have to worry about being gentle with you" ..... sheer ignorance, anyone with more medical training understands the difference!! I'm not bothered overly with blood tests but I certainly don't revel in them lol!
I got asked my weight by mw at booking in? Maybe you didn't and that's why? My BMI is 29, set to get much more if my first preg is anything to go by!! Also, i'm rhesus negative but they said they can't record that on my notes until its confirmed by blood test ! I said why ? is my blood group likely to have changed in the last 3 years lol!

pmsl oh god, I forgot about the frogs!! I remember going there for bloods once and they were quite miserable ladies doing the bloods too?! Maybe they get fed up with everyone going in and say "ooh that's a lot of frogs!!"
I'm worried now I got weighed and you didn't!!!! Why would that have been?? She did it on one of those really old-fashioned scales too where you have to move the bits along!! Just thought I wonder if that's where you go for the GTT too? Are you having one? I didn't last 2 times, but MW has written in my notes for me to have one at 28wks? I wonder if it's cos my BMI is a bit high (33) and my dd was quite a bit bigger than ds - he was 6lb 6oz and she was 8lb 1oz.. But I didn't see it written there at my booking in to actually ask her, I'm going to ask at my next appt.

He he.. I didn't get weighed, they prob took one look at me and thought they wouldn't depress me by doing it!! Weird, I had the same lady I think, but when I went up there they seemed really confused about me having been sent there, and yet you went up an hour before!! She had trouble finding a vein and said ooh I can feel something but i'm not sure if its a vein (?) so I said oh just stab it and see!!!
Yes, I expected the waiting area to be full of mums who were bursting for the loo having been waiting for an hour or more!! I didn't have my big drink until half an hour before as I was so sure i'd be waiting in agony for ages!! Luckily bladder was still full enough!
Yeah, path lab you just hand them your fowm and sit and wait usually for aaaggeess, and then you go into the room full of toy frogs!!!

I'm good too thanks
I know, I was amazed when I was called in just before 10am!!! I was thinking they'd be running so late that you'd probably turn up and I'd still be waiting!! last time it was an hour late almost for both my scans!! Yeah it was nice going up to the women's health bit for the bloods and not the path lab - don't you just have to queue and wait your turn there from what I remember?? The lady who did my bloods was nice too (dark curly hair?) although I wasn't too impressed at being weighed lol!! My 20wk scan is 23rd Oct in the afternoon, so I think they'll definately be running late then!! xx

Hiya, i'm good thanks, yourself? I saw the lady too (steph I think she said her name was? ) the bloke seems really nice though I saw him chatting to another couple while we waited for our next appt. They were on time I couldn't believe it!! And I got to have my bloods done at women's health instead of waiting around in the manky old path lab so was in and out super quick!!
My 20 week is on 3rd nov, how about you? xxx

Hello! How are you?
Just wondered when your 20wk scan is? did you see the lady sonographer for your 12 wk one or the bloke? I saw the lady, she was nice. I had the bloke for my 20wk with my dd and he was really funny

xx
