Just thought I might start a thread for anybody due on the 26th March.

I'm Beth, I'm 26 and live in South Wales. I have a little boy called Alfie who will be 1 this Friday. He was two weeks overdue and I had a home birth. I've have a lot more sickness this time so can't wait to feel better!

Has everybody had their scans yet?

    Hi everyone!!

Gosh, been soooooooooooo busy.  Went pics on Fri night to see Tropic Thunder, was v. funny and yesterday went to watch Leon play football (he plays for Burnley Supporters Team) then went to Burnlry v Preston match.  Not had a chance to breathe let alone get on here!!!

Scan went brilliantly - was so amazing.  Splodge is a real little wriggler - has a pot belly (like me!) and kept turning over on stomach then onto his/her back again!!  Even waved at us at one point!  It was the most surreal experience we have ever had in our lives!!

My due date has been put back slightly, now due on 31st March.  Hope you will still all be happy for me to be on here though cos I really don't want to leave!!  We started the shopping on Friday afternoon.  Did Mothercare straight after hospital - got a Dr. Brown's steriliser (they are on offer at mo) and a real gorgeous 8 piece set.  Even started getting the nappies in!!

Hope everyone is well and had/having nice weekends, I'm off to my grandad and grandma's for dinner now - big family get together - so will be back on here tomorrow.  Speak to you all then!

    Love Jo.  xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

My youngest was a really bad sleeper!  He was breast fed and fed every 2 hours night and day until he was 6months old!  Then i enlisted the help of my hv team who happened to have a nursery nurse on the team which specialised in sleep!  She helped me with controlled crying.  It was hell to start off with but within a couple of weeks he was sleeping through most nights and if he did wake up he wasnt awake for long!

He now is a good sleep although still and early riser waking up 5.30 - 6 sometimes earlier!!

I dont know if i want to find out bout sex or not!  I do but i dont!!  I think i probably will though! xx

When are all our 20 week scan dates ladies?? Mine is 12 November xx

Well done Beth that's some good fundraising

Welcome aishhuss, glad your scan went ok even tho you get to meet bump sooner than you expected - is it your first baby?

I probably wont get on here again today was hoping Jo had logged on with her scan update.

I managed to find trousers and cardigan from H&M today and some ridiculous looking PJs from Primark, if only I'd known about Pea****s would have had a look in there.  Primark looked like a jumble sale today and I didn't really have patience to look around bladder was going to explode as I pigged out at Costa beforehand!

    Speak soon xxx

Well Girlies, won't be on here much today because the day has finally arrived......YAY!!!!!!!

Just gonna have a shower and get some washing done - its a lovely day - this morning, then off to meet dp for some dinner before we head to hosp.  As soon as I get back on here I will let you know how we've gone on but it may not be until tomorrow - we are going out for the day and then to pctures tonight with some friends.  Going to watch that new Adam Sandler/Jack Black one so should be funny!

Emma I love both the names Grace and Florence - they also made it to my shortlist.  I like traditional names as you can probably tel!!  Sorry to hear about your nan.  I hope that she does make it through to see your new baby and remember that we are all here for you should you need anything whatsoever.

Hope everyone is okay today.......speak soon!

Evening ladies, everyone sounds like they had a good day.

Glad everything was ok with your scan newmommy, Good Luck for tomorrow Jo

I've had excellent day with Evie except she has black eye from falling on her building bricks yesterday and everyone at tescos was giving me horrible looks this morning.......apart from that its been great Evie has said mumum loads today and been really cuddley - very unlike her....still no sign of her teeth and yet another restless night with her.

I've missed loads of messages today, so much to say to reply to them all.  We can't decide if we want to find out if bump is pink or blue, I'm pretty certain we will keep it as a surprise.  I love the name Edith its my nan's middle name but Pete was keen when naming Evie she has middle name Joan after her great nan who sadly passed away this year but she did get to spend time with Evie.  This time round for a girl we are going to call her Grace Florence after both of my nan's one who is battling lung cancer and who sadly I don't think will get to meet bump  If its a boy we are not sure at all we picked Doyle Matthew last time Matthew after my DH brother.

I'm going shopping tomorrow to try and find some trousers again DH has afternoon off so me and mum going to town then sadly I'm quite excited I'm off to Asda tomorrow night so will pick up baby bits for Evie now buying things in mutual colours just in case.

Didn't hear from work today about request for 3 days a week not that I honestly expect to hear for sometime but still it annoyed me.

I've had a few stomach aches and pains over the last few weeks just everything stretching about inside although sometimes it has been quite painful but I'm sure normal.  My sickness was a little better this morning but still feeling lousey although eating a little bit better and I can now bear the smell and taste of toothpaste.

Let us know how you get on tomorrow Jo x

Ha, looking at some of these threads it seems we can all talk and talk!!  I guess that is the best idea when going shopping.  If I decide what I want now, I'll never find something like it.  I too like names ending in "ie".  I was hoping for Maisie, until someone kindly pointed out that they have a dog called Maisie, so that put me off.  And we worked out that Edith can always be an Edie so we've settled on that one.............for now!!

Sorry to hear about your friend, guess just see what is in the shops that takes your fancy at the time, it's hard having a picture already in your head as you never find what you want.

I want Henry for a boy with the middle name Phillip after my Dad who died 5 years ago. For girls I like Freya, Mia and Anya but dh doesn't. He wants names that end with the sound "ie". He has a dd called Sophie and then we have Alfie so I was going through all the names like Poppy, Mollie, Millie etc. He quite likes Laney and Paige but I don't feel 100% about either if you know what I mean. The middle name would be Elaine, like me, my mum, my gran etc.

God I really do talk and talk don't I!!!!!

Yes, I can't wait to go shopping tomorrow after the scan!!  Going to get myself something aswell.  I need to buy something bright - my friend was unfortunately shot and killed by the Taliban two weeks ago whilst on patrol with the para's in the Helmand province of Afghanistan and his funeral is on Wednesday.  Spoke to his mum last night and she has asked us all to wear something bright as that is what Jay would have wanted (he was the life and soul of a party and very much into his hawaiian shirts!!!).  I was panicking enough about having a black outfit that would be suitable (and still fit) but now I really don't know what to get - might just go for black pants and a bright top or might find a dazzling jumper dress that will grow with me!  Anyone seen anything nice about they think would be suitable?

As for names, we are thinking Edith-Jean for a girl (Leon's mum is called Jean) and for a boy we are undecided.  Definitely having Dominic as a middle name - my grandad is called Domenico - but can't agree on a first name.  I like Henry, Leon doesn't though so I won't be getting my way there I don't think!!

Good morning ladies - glad to see that although not everything is going perfect, everybody seems quite upbeat and positive on this thread at the moment.

I'm off to get my free eye check in the hospital I work for this afternoon to double check that the headaches aren't because of my eyes. We're having a McMillan Coffee morning in work tomorrow so I'm bringing in a million pounds so I can eat cakes all day!

Really looking forward to going shopping on Saturday, hope I can get a few nice tops which will defiantely perk me up a little bit and I've got some vouchers for mothercare so need to get Alfie some more sleepsuits and vests. I wouldn't normally buy in Morthcare and twice the price, but since I have the vouchers, might as well.

Anybody up to anything interesting by any chance today?? A Scan maybe....

    I have a questionnewmommy09

Oh, and on the subject of finding out Blue or Pink bump, We said at first that we didn't want to know but as the pregnancy has progressed we discussed this more & more and I came to the conclusion that 1, I am too impatient & 2, We want to be able to give babba its own identity straight away, well thats my excuse & I'm sticking to it hehehe!! I even asked yesterday if they could see what it was but they told me it was a little too early Oh well only 7weeks until my next scan so hopefully will be bying Blue/Pink stuff very soon. Has anyone got any names in mind yet???

    Morning everyone!

How r we all today?  Congratulations newmommy!!!  That is such good news, so happy for you!    Seems I'm the last one to get to see splodge!!  Oh well, not long now, only 28 1/2 hours (but whose counting?!?).

Emma - hope you r okay after your experience with your v. mean boss.  How dare he say you are not allowed any more children!  Who the hell does he think he is!  And about the going back part time issue, i'm almost sure that i've read somewhere that this is something they have to let you do if you so wish.  Hope you managed to get some sleep last night hun.

Has anybody else been getting pains in their stomach at all?  I keep getting a pain (as if someone/thing is 'pulling' on me from the inside. It starts at the side of my stomac in the morning and moves round to the front by evening.   At the moment, everywhere I go I am carrying a hot water bottle!

Oh and by the way - is everyone finding out if it's a pink bump or blue bump?  We aren't.  Although Leon last night decided to tell me he wanted to!!  He has now changed his mind again and decided he doesn't want to though thank god!  I just think that not knowing will make labour all the more worth while!

Sending everyone lots of baby glue!  xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
