We used Tesco's own, but since DS only uses a nappy at night we use huggies, I think as there bodies change the nappies change the way they fit so a brand that was perfect suddenly leak - DS is really slim and tall so we have to get them fitting right around his legs and belly x

Just to agree, didn't like Huggies. Mainly use Pampers but Tesco NB are fab. I sometimes find though that Tesco is not always cheaper than Pampers depending on the offer so you have to carefully look at the price per nappy.

    Wow! Thanks for the response!

I too just thought a nappy is a nappy, but didn't think the own brands would be as good as you all say they are, so you have defo made me think twice. Love the little clouds expression!

I reckon I'll get 2 packs of Tesco 'clouds'  and 2 packs of Pampers just incase my buba has a funny shaped bottom, lol

    Thanks again ladies!

ive ended up mainly using tescos and pampers depending on offers etc as huggies and asda always leak , i have put this down to the shape of my little un as he is very tall and slim so may well try the other brands again depending on what my next one is like

i remember huggies always used 2 leak really bad(but that was 4 yrs ago, so have prob changed now) ..... i also used asda or tescos in the end.......i think its just a case of trying the different brands n seein which 1 is the best 4 u, i found it surprising how different they were, cos u'd think a nappys just a nappy n there all the same  xxxxxx

    Good morning ladies

I always use the tesco  own brand newborn, i just couldnt get on with huggies and couldnt really afford pampers on a regular basis.

this is baby number 3 for me and i can say hand on heart that the tesco own brand are just as brill as pampers and way cheaper.

well im on baby number one but ive so far got huggies, pampers and asdas own. Im really hoping i can get away with asdas own as theyre less than 2quid a pack. I wanted 2go 4 reuseables but everyone talked me out of them, even people who used them!

I have ended up with both as the free baskets in sainsburys and tesco both come with buying a pack of huggies and the boots club free change bag with buying pampers! love a freebie lol! thought i would have these 3 packs and see how it goes, if any one loves huggies the newborn packs, nappies, wipes and free socks are on special in boots at the mo, 2 packs for the price of 1....I think....baby brain! x

Like Bex, I couldn't get on with huggies.  They seemed to leek all the time with poop's.
I used pampers (purple) until ds was 1yo then I went onto own brands and whatever was cheapest.
with dd, there wasn't unisex nappies, it was pink/blue single sex one's!  I used pampers by choice and sainsbury's when mum bought them (she worked there so got good dicounts lol!!)

I've got a few packets of pampers and a couple of huggies to see if they've changed but mostly sainsbury and tesco own brand.
They are just as soft as pampers but a third of the price

Have to be honest, couldn't get on with huggies with Scarlett, they just couldn't contain her poop. Pampers have been the best for us. Although, since she's been in size 4+ she's been using tesco's own brand ones and they seem to do the trick. We have three packs of pampers new borns for sproglet, so we'll use them, then maybe try the tesco's own brand ones after we've all got use to each other!

I've been talking to my mum friends about this and they all said they use/used the asda own brand ones and find them just as good as the pampers and huggies ones. I went looking and they are currently on 3 for £10 so thats 138 nappies for £10 and asdas own brand baby wipes are on 5 for £4 so i did a bit of stocking up lol. They also had johnsons baby lotion in for 50p a bottle!! Oh and the Tommee Tippee breast bump was £15.

Basically ASDA has loads of bargains on at the mo so just keep your eyes out if you nip in lol.

i use both, generally which ever one is one offer, i have also used tesco own and sainsburys own and i can honestly say that i havent found that there is that much difference in all of them.  i tend to buy pampers more than other brands because i always seem to have money off vouchers come through the post for them.

I know, a while yet but....

    What do you mummies recommend?

I was born into Pampers, and the hospital I used to work at used them and the babies seemed happy enough so thinking of just sticking to what I know(ish).

I suppose they don't even have to be either of them, are any supermarket own brands any good?

I'm not into re-useables, bad I know but theres no point me starting I won't stick to it *slaps wrists*
