well, i dont know if it was the dream catcher or whether it was more mind-over-matter  (i like to think it was the dream catcher) but i had a really good nights sleep last night. I didnt wake up kicking and screaming and i woke up this morning feeling refreshed (well, as refreshed as you can be when you are full of a rotten cold!)

thats a lovely story about the spider - i will think twice now before i dust the webs off the kitchen window. i dont know why i bother to be honest, a couple of hours after i get rid of them, they are back!!!! plus, we never have flies in the kitchen lol

anyway, i thought i would share a bit of the better news after i had a good old rant about my nightmares yesterday !!!!

Someone once told me the story of how dream catchers came about, its quite sweet so I will share.......

Once upon a time a Princess save the life of a huge spider. The spider felt he was in debt to the princess and spun a beautiful web in her bedroom window. He explained to the princess the web would now protect her from all things evil.

well, i met my dp from work this afternoon and we went into town where my dp bought me a gorgeous dream catcher (its quite big and when i pointed this out to my dp his response was, well the dreams are bad so the bigger the catcher the better !!! when we were paying, the lady inthe shop asked if it was for a gift and when i told her it was for me and why i wanted it, she gave me a worry stone and told me to put it under my pillow at night - i thought that was really nice of her. as soon as we got home, my dp put the catcher up in the bedroom window and i am trying very hard to think positively that IT WILL WORK. i feel like if it doesnt, i will end up going mad.

i will let you know if it works !!!!!

I had a horrible nightmare a few nights ago.. I had just given birth to bump (it was a girl) and the lady told me she wouldn't live for very long. She told me it was my fault because I had drunk alcohol before I knew I was pg. The baby lived for 80 days and was horribly deformed and the lady in my dreams told me it was all my fault :'(

I had one last night that a spirit was taking over my daughters voice and if I couldnt get her out of our house fast, the spirit would claim her voice and she would never talk again. I woke up feeling really shaken and couldnt get back to sleep. I recall having some wacky dreams last time round, moreso after dd was born I dreamt about death all the time. Gonna go buy a pretty dream catcher later and put it in my window. It worked when I was a teenager, so I'm gonna give it a shot again.

blimey, it seems that nightmares are far more common than i thought. i put my bad dreams down to stress or being over tired. im thinking now that they are are far more hormone related than anything else.

this is one of the possible pregnancy 'problems' no-one tells you about !!

as i said in an earlier post, i so hope i get a break tonight and get a good night & i hope that everyone else gets a break from their dreams too

    So freaky!

I woke up screaming saturday night, I dreamt we went for our scan and the scan showed that my baby had no arms. I was so disturbed that I couldn't even bring the words out of my mouth to tell me husband what I had seen. Just didn't want to say it incase I jinxed anything. I have my first scan next week and I'm so scared now.

Am the same as well, night before last I had a dream that someone was holding my son's head in a cloth and I was screaming, it was awful, the worst dream I have ever had and I couldn't get back to sleep after.  Is it because of hormones because they are really scaring me.  Last night was bad too, had a nightmare about my pregnancy which meant I couldn't sleep for ages as well.

    morning everyone

as the thread says, im having terrible nightmares. the night before last, i woke up shouting and my heart was bursting out of my chest (i dreamt that i had found my children murdered and i was charged with doing it) then last night, again i had another one and my dp had to wake me as i was thrashing round and shouting (last night i dreamt that my 14 year old daughter had murdered someone in our garden shed). my dp lay awake with me until i nodded back off again because i was so afraid of going back to sleep.

is anyone else suffering with nightmares and have they found anything that helps to prevent them? i always have either hot milk or horlicks before i go to bed because it helps to stop me from getting heartburn in the night and i would have thought that by having that, i would get a more restful night but obviously not.

i am really nervous about having to go to bed tonight. i just hope that my anxiety doesnt trigger more or makes me unhappy all day
