Im 11wks and have put on....nearly 2 stone!! Not through bad eating as Im constantly sick and on sickness tablets! I was the same last time and swelled up everywhere lol. Went from shoes, to trainers, to flips as couldnt get shoes on in the end. I retain water very badly when pg but luckily it all went really quickly after the birth last time...apart from that last few pounds which wouldnt shift. Wish I was like my friend.....6mths down the line and you wouldnt know she was pregnant!! xx

i'm hungry all the time, i'm always thinking about food. i used to eat very healthy and i keep on doing, but someday i just can't help myself by having junk food. on saturday i went to subway and i had a 6 inch with tuna and cheese, then i was still hungry and i just begged dp to take me to mcdonald's where i had a big mac.. i feel so guilty now. i put an extra half kg.. -

i'm 12 +6 and i have put on a stone and half already but it seems to have stayed at that for the past 3 weeks in my last pg with my dd i put on as tone in the first 3 mnth and then only put anothe stone on through out the rest of pg. it seems i wallop it on in the first few months and it stabilises then but we are all different after all!

I completely agree Rachael but my problem is that I don't eat healthy. Hopefully now I'm not so tired I will get back into eating normally again and cooking proper meals. Like I said I hope to maintain my weigh now for a while. I've also got gest diab to look forward too. It got picked up at 24 weeks last time so I've got another 10 weeks until I have to start eating small frequent meals again with no sweet stuff/bread etc.
We've gt a voucher for pizza hut to use before sunday so might end up there on saturday for dinner. Might as well use it!

I'm expecting my first and by 12 weeks had not gained any weight, although I have got a little belly!!!
I'm now 13+2 but have not weighed myself since.
I'm in the mind that it's inevitable that I'm going to gain weight, but I'm just trying to eat well and hope I don't crap junk food (no cravings yet, although I did get a Pot Noodle for lunch yesterday
)I also have a Labrador so I'm still walking with him twice a day, so hopefully if I can continue to do that as long as possible, (I have visions of waddling later on!!) then I'll just deal with the diet once baby is here
So long as I have a healthy pregnancy and baby is doing well then I'll be happy
I think there is too much pressure on mothers (and mothers in the public eye, J-Lo, Angelina Jole etc) to get back to pre-pregnancy size far far too quickly. Health is more important at the end of the day
(Sorry for the rant at the end!!!) Rachael 13+2

Hi Elaine - poor you. One thing I've never had is ms I just get really hungry all the time and can't stop eating and of course because I'm so tired I just reach for the crap and nightimes end up with takeaways more often than we'd normally do. On a pact this week that I'm not going near a shop unless it's for essentials and takeaways are strictly banned.

Cathjane...Im 14+3 and Im nearly a stone up too. I find the only thing to help my nausea in the first trimester is (wierdly) eating. I dont eat full meals as such but am constantly snacking and due to the tiredness I cant be bothered swimming so the weight piles on. It happened with dd too, I hardly gained anything in the second trimester with her though, fingers crossed it will be the same with this one

I think I have read correctly that by about 14 weeks you have 40-50% more blood in your body which would account for a nice bit of weight gain.

I am terrible in early pregnancy for putting on weight. The combination of being starving all the time and just being too exhausted to cook properly meant I've always put on weight on the first trimester. This is my 4th one in 3 years because I lost 2 of them at 3 months. This has meant that I have started out being overweight on these last 3 pregnancies. Although I had lost weight after having Thomas in december so was starting out 1/2stone less than when I was pg with him.
I'd put on 2 stone by the time I reached 23 weeks last time
but I joined slimming world and a diagnosis of gest diab meant I lost a stone of that before I started gaining weight again so in the end had only put on 2 stone through the whole thing. This time I'm 12 weeks today and I'm a stone up already but my appetite is starting to get back to normal so hopefully I'll be able to maintain this for a long while (well until bubs starts growing a lot that is). I'd really like to stay this weight until the end but I'm not holding my breath. It's very depressing after having a baby and it taking ages to get back into "normal clothes" so I really want to try and keep my weight gain this tie round under control (not doing too well so far though).
BTW I have always put on about 1/2 stone in the first couple of weeks of pregnancy that never goes away (I presume it's some king of water retention). The weight gain was one of the clues i had that I was pg again along with the exhaustion and enormous appetite.

I'm 12+4 today and by now i put on half a kilo, not very much, but it's my first pg and i'm already showing a bit, just a funny belly -

I lost 3kgs within the 6-9 weeks while my doc sorted out anti sickness meds. Put that 3kgs back on now and gained another. I got fatter after I had DD, not while I was pg lol.

In my previous pgs (two of which I lost) I put on weight really quickly - tbh I'm not the healthiest eater when pg as I tend to go completely off cooked meals - never suffered with morning sickness but just can't tolerate cooked food! Strange! Anyhow, I had initially put on about 6lb but weighed myself earlier and I've only put on 4lb now which I'm really pleased about as I think I'd gained at least half a stone by this time with prev pgs - I know its only a few lb difference but I'm hoping me trying not to eat for two is working! I only put on about 2stone with my DS though so hoping to be the same or less this time! x

Hello everyone!
I was just wondering if people have put much weight on so far? With my last pregnancy i had put on half a stone by this stage, but this time i have stayed exactly the same! Strange...maybe it means i am having a girl...
Hope you all ok,
Lizzie,11+6

i always seem to eat a lot during the first 3 months anyway. With my last pregnancy i lost 3 stone after i had my daughter, i hope i dont get big this time.
love clare xx
