I a sweep and 3 days later things started happening. I was 1 cm dilated.

I Had my first sweep at 10am on friday 9th May (was due 12th), was 2cm already and favourable by 11.48pm Friday 9th May Theo had arrived.

I was picked up from the hospital at 10:30 and went shopping in morrisons and half way around i was getting bad backache and suspected that something had happened.  By the time i got home i was about 98% sure.

i had a sweep with my 1st pregnancy when i was 6 days over due - nothing happened!! my hind waters broke 3 days after, but labour didn't start so had to be induced - baby was 11 days late.

with this pregnancy i went to see m/w at 41 weeks thinking she was going to do a sweep and got to clinic and it was a different m/w who said, if sweep did nothing for you first time i'm not going to give you one this time basically!! and explained how sometimes interfering 'down there' interferes with natural course of things! 

But she  booked me in for an induction at 42 weeks, but he arrived 12 days late and it all kicked off naturally in the end - woo hoo

i had  a sweep and was told i was 1cm dilated, and that they couldnt see baby coming any time soon... 12 hours later i had dd2.   about 5 hours after the sweep i had  show aswell.

i had two sweeps both of which were unsuccessful.but my whole labour wasnt v successful!

i had 2 sweeps but i was in early labour wen i had them, but they did seem to make the contractions a bit more regular and more intence so i think they did do something. i hope you are not waiting much longer for your lo to arrive

hi ladies june seems so quiet these days n no ones answering my q so was just wondering 2 ny of u ladies that have had sweeps b4 how succesful they were, i had 1 today midwife said im 2 cm dilated cervix is soft and she cld feel babys head she had somethign in my notes i cldnt quite make out said mid something, ny help wld b gr8ly appreciated many thnxs in advance
