its great to have you join the thread and congrats on the bump. sorry i didnt answer sooner but work has been driving me crazy on top of then having to come home, cook dinner and then start more work again grrr - i'm sooo knackered. before o was pregers i used to only get between 2 and 4 hours sleep a night and i was quite tired but u get used to it. now i'm sleeping like a baby and i'm more tired than i was on 2 to 4 hours sleep a night. how does that work eh?
i'm a teacher and also have to be careful that i dont come into contact with kids that have certain illnesses like slapped cheek and a couple of others but theres no way of telling who has them and who doesnt i guess. think i'm going to tell work soonish but might wait till after my first scan which should be in the next two weeks. that reminds me i have to ring up to find out when it is as its a 8 to 10 week scan coz im high rish and im 8 weeks today. could do with knowing asap when the scan is so i can let work know i need a little time off.
i sooooo wanted to buy some booties or somethng today but managed to stop myself (or my mum did lol) had a look at prams etc tho. saw a lovely one but nearly fainted when they said it was 700 quid!!! - might see if i can find something similar on ebay tho. was going to wait till 12 weeks until i bought anything but 4 weeks seems such a very long time to wait.
had my bloods taken ont he 19th sept but i dont know when the results come back so maybe i should ring the docs about that one to find out.
where do you get belly belts from? have managed to get casual trousers in a size up but i only bought new work suits at the beginning of september and the trousers are really uncomfy. i went back to the shops i bought them in to see if they had a size up and have only managed to find one pair of trousers to match the jacket i have. hopefully they will restock for the other suits i bought soon but in the meantime i only have 1 suit that fits
(omg look how ive rambled lol
how are you all getting on ladies?

Not sure where youll get navy trousers from laura, ive been hunting 34"leg maternity trou so been looking at loads of sites. Not seen any navy but Ive managed to find some black and grey ones from mothercare. Im trying to wear my normal trou at the moment but with a button extender. Ive really expanded since last wk tho so I think Ill soon be in maternity. Im only 8wk on sat lol

hi helen, i'm a nurse so i've had to tell my boss and senior team early on so i don't have contact with any infectious children as all the old illnesses are coming bak measles, tb,etc. we'll all be going mad in the shops soon!! hope you are feeling well!! i had all my bloods done on tuesday, have you got date for scan yet??
i have been hunting down navy trousers for work but think i'm gonna go for belly belts which extend your trousers for a while.
hope you are well, take care laura x

great to hear your good news and welcome. you're due on my hubby's birthday!!! it's my first too and i'm also excited at the same time as being nervous. glad you're feeling ok. no symptoms here apart from cramps and sore boobies (a bit). i wasnt expecting to be putting on anyweight till at least 3 or 4 months but quite a few people on due in may have mentioned that they have too so that's quite relieving. i know what you mean about sucking ya guts in - doesnt even work when im lying on my back anymore lol.
anyway take care of both of you and keep us updated.

Hi there my name is Rachel and I am almost 29 I am due my first on 19th May and I am very excited, it is my husband's 4th so we have an ever increasing complicated family, but we would not have it any other way!
I am feeling ok I feel sick in the evenings and I am always hungry and very tierd but I can cope with all that. I seem to be putting on weight I seem to be at a point where I can no longer breath in and hide all my lumps and bumps (lol) is this normal so early on in pregnancy?

Hiya mel
Feeling a bit better but not completely. Going back to work tomorrow but I'm on a course so it should be ok to go to the oo when i want. No worries Ya not being nosey. Ive already posted somewhere in the high risk section so its nothing im keeping secret. I have kidney problems which puts me at greater risk of premature bith and low birth weight plus I'll have utis often during my pregnancy and have to be careful they dont turn into kidney infections coz that has even worse effects in pregnancy than the utis. I'll probably be fine especially if they keep a close eye on me but I do worry about it. I'm gonna be such an overprotective mum :S
I'm sooo knackered so gonna have a rest. Will write more later
Take care all of yas

hi everyone, u prob know me already as i always seem to be on here! i'm mel, 27 & due baby #2 on 17th. my little girl is almost 13 months now. i haven't got my scan date yet, but have mw appt next week so will make appt then.
i think i'm a lot more relaxed this time over what i eat etc. remember having a panic attack last yr when hubby used a knife with peanut butter on it to cut my sandwich! this time i've been eating snickers like there's no tomorrow! lol. i will be nervous about 12 wk scan tho, as i had 2 mmcs before i had freya & with both i didn't know anything was wrong until i went for my scans. so, with freya i'd kind of prepared for the worst & was literally speechless when the sonographer casually said, "there's the heartbeat..."
i'm really looking forward to the rest of my preg as i loved it last time & worked right up until the end. can even say i quite enjoyed the whole labour thing (must be mad!), but maybe i'm just seeing it all through rose tinted specs. obviously that means that this time round it'll be a nightmare!
wow, look at me rambling.... hope everyone is well!
mel 7+2

Hiya Deeja
Thanks for your message. Congrats on your prgnancy and welcome to the thread. Its really nice to meet people who are due the same or nearly the same day as you caoz u can swap notes lol. Sounds like you'll have quite a bit on your hands with 2 kids when u deliver but better than if your elder was 2 i guess. My clothes are tight too so i went and bought some large trackies which are sooo comfy and were a bargain at £3 each from ASDA. I love my bargains lol. I've managed to avoid all morning sickness so far. Just hope it lasts. Infact I wouldnt even know I was pregers apart from a few cramps. My boobs only started getting a bit tender the other night and during the day I dont notice any soreness. Long may this continue. I do have a UTI tho which isnt much fun to say the least so I've been of work yesterday and today. I dont have a great sense of smell usually but it has got better recently. Good luck with your scan. I'm still waiting to hear when mine is but should be i the next 3 weeks as I am high risk and having the 8 to 10 weeks scan. So sorry to hear about your mc Deeja. Thats what worries me most but i will keep my fingers crossed for ya and heres some baby glue. I know I might not see so much with an early scan but the mw said I might still get a later on as 12 - 14 weks (hopfully I will) but if not I might get a 3d or 4d scan privately - looking into that atm.
Take care
Helen

Hiya
Just thought I would introduce myself. Im 33 from Carlisle and 6 weeks and one day prgenant due on 16th May. I have read way too much from pregnancy books the past week or so and am totally paranoid that i darent even breathe without doing my baby harm lol. Trying to take it all with a pinch of salt though. Started putting on weight for the past month but at least i have an excuse now lol. Looking forward to meeting other mums to be.
Bye for now
