hi sally thanks for that i was wondering if i was eating enough but feeling sick constantly i cant help it but when i do have a sick free moment i eat. charley is allergic to dairy so we both have soya milk/yogs etc but i cant stomach them atm. the best i can describe the pain is like when u 1st start bf n have to bite ur lip n curl ur toes, its just the nipple thats sore although its not red/cut.

thanks every1 else, i too am a bf support worker funnily enough but as this is my 1st time bf whilst preg i dont know if its right or wrong. our babycafe (bf group) is on tomm so i will ask the bf counsillor maybe she can help/reassure me.

I'm still feeding my lo who is 7 months and am 7 weeks pregnant. I have found that my boobs are a bit more tender recently, but nothing compared to when I first started bf so I can put up with it. I just put it down to the tenderness you get in early pregnancy anyway (although I only feel it when she is feeding). I have also found that she has started fussing a bit more, but if I step up my calorie intake a little bit and eat more protein she is much better, so I think maybe if you are bf you just have to remember that your body is actually working to supply goodness for you, your bf baby and your new baby, so you may need a few more calories and protein to keep making such filling milk, if that makes sense. hth, sally.x

i'm sure i read somewhere that your milk changes when you become pregnant, so therefore may taste different & cause lo to start acting funny when feeding.  i don't know if this would be the case at only 7 weeks or if it happens later on in pregnancy.  best to post on the breastfeeding forum, i'm sure someone there can help.

Hiya, I would really advise calling one of the breastfeeding help lines, the is the la leche league, breastfeeding network and the NCT, all of them have help lines although the breast feeding network and NCT are not 24 hour.  If you call them you will be speaking to a trained breastfeeding expert who will be able to give you really good info.

It's really worth phoneing more than one too.  I am currently training to be a qualified Breastfeeding supporter but I don't feel experienced enough in feeding when pregnant to give you any info.

give them a google, I'm sure you will get some great help and support from them.

its ok hun, perfectly understandable. aside from 4 days after birth when your milk comes in, boobs grow the most and are the most tender in the first trimester, as the hormones are pumping them up again, its like before you get your period and your boobs hurt a lot because of all the hormones. should ease up after 12 weeks or so if you can stand it that long!!!! x em 9+1

Your poor boobs! I guess the pain is due to really tender boobs from early pregnancy and feeding with them can't be much fun at the mo. Maybe it'll pass once your pregnancy develops.

My daughter at a similar age also started messing about a bit at feeding time and didn't really concentrate on the job in hand like she used to! In the end she started biting so i had to stop feeding her Which was tough on both of us.

Hope all works out well for you and your boobs.

I really dont know hon, but didnt want to leave your post unanswered.

I`m still bf my lo, who is also 11 months. She has bitten me a little recently, but i hadnt really thought that it might be connected to my pregnancy. I guess the tenderness could be because your breasts are more sensitive, and it probably goes for your nipples too. I know the taste of the milk is supposed to change during pregnancy, but everything ive read suggests that doent happen til around 5 months.

Keep going hon, i`m sure your lo will get over the biting etc.
