I've been in complete agony for the past 3 days or so now, the pain has been bearable (sp?) and i've been taking paracetamol and sleeping all the time. DH has gone back to work today and my god the pain has got so much worse.

Its in my groin on the left hand side and even walking hurts so much, the paracetamol are not taking the edge off it today so i've just rang through to the docs for an app to see if he will give me something more stronger and the only app they have is tomorrow morning

dh is working so i'm thinking of canceling it as i don't think i could walk all the way there with 3 kids and then see a doc whilst they run wild round the surgery.

whatever happened to emergemcy appts?

Sorry rant over

Aww thanks for the well wishes girls,

I got home from hospital this morning.

Went to a&e at 9.30am and was sat in the waiting room for 3hrs, then when i did finally get seen i was told that i couldn't eat or drink anything just incase, so they spent another hour tryng to get blood from me then left me with one of them needles in my arm incase they needed more blood.

In the end i got sent over to mapel ward in epu (maternity unit) where i was given a bed and told the doc will see me soon.

3 hrs later the doc came and asked about my symptoms and felt my tummy then said she was going to go away and speak to her registar and see what he said.

After 30mins she came bac and said she didn't know what was worng and as it was sunday they couldn't scan me as there was no sonographers working, and I still couldn't have a drink or food.

So she took a swab to test for infections then gave me some paracetamol and told me i would have to stay in for the night so they could keep an eye on me and scan me first thing

I begged nd begged to go home and said that if anything changed pain wise i would come straight back in even if it was the middle of the night.

Another 2 hrs passed and about 4pm the registar came and exmined me as he knew i wanted to go home, he didn't want me to come home till he knew where the baby was so he said as long as someone could get him into epu and a cheaperone he would scan me quiclky to see if the baby was in the womb or the tubes.

so another hour later he walked me to epu and gave me an internal scan, saw the baby in the womb, checked for a heartbeat which was very very hard to see so he put the blood flow thing on and showed me the red blob in the middle of the baby had a listen of the heartbeat but couldn't be sure if it was the baby's heartbeat or mine the scan was picking up.

said he was happy the baby was in the right place (even tho this was the first internal scan he had ever done and the first pregnancy scan he had done in 6yrs)

so they kept me in over night just as a precaution and let me home this morning after me moaning lol

All i had to eat all day was a salad sandwich at 9pm so dh is ging to make me some sraambled egg on toast then i'm going to curl up in bed as the pain is still there and really bad.

they never offered me another scan this morning just told me to follow up with my mw tomorrow when i see her, but they baby was like a little jelly baby and relly really hard to see even tho i should be 7+2 today.

I have a pic that i will get dh to scan onto the comp later today for me so you can have a nosey

    xxx

Morning girls, wasn't online last night so have just read your posts now.

Kadensmummy (hope i got that right) congratulations hunni xxxx

Well i had the most uncomftable night sleep ever and the pain omg never felt pain like it before, so i rang nhs direct at 7am and they have advised me to go to a&e and get a second opinion

Am just waiting for dh to get home from work to help me get the kids ready then he will drop me off (no point in him staying and paying those rediculious parking charges)

so once he gets in i'll jump in the shower (just incase i get a dishy doc ) then set off for a&e altho i don't think they will do much on a sunday morning, prob make me come back tomorrow,

Stillers the nurse on nhs direct said she wanted to rule out eptopic too thats why she's sending me to a&e instead of the out of hours doc

    will update later xxxxx

i dont want to scare you in anyway at all, please dont think i am - but, i have had an ectopic pregnancy before and was told to look out for symptoms this time including chronic groin pain and pains in your neck and shoulders as for some reason it is associated. like i said, i am not trying to scare you, just think its very bad for the dr to say you are imagining it when they are symptoms for an ectopic! I really dont think you have that though as i am sure the pain wouldnt go on for days. it definitly sounds like something is stretching awkwardly.

trust it to be a male dr you saw- they suck!! big huge hugs to you xxx

thanks hun, i felt like saying that to him but with the girls there i didn't want to go off on one. I explained that i had been in bed for a few days whilst dh was on his days off as the pain was bad but the paracetamol doesn't seem to be helping,

his reply was well maybe your dh could look after the kids till you see your mw and get your scan and you could rest in bed

(my dh isn't on a docs wage and couldn't take time off even if he wanted to as he has no leave left and wouldn't get paid esp as i prob won't get my scan till nov)

oh well, have taken some more paracetamol and am putting up with the pain, i understand what your saying and may look into getting somehting like that next week when dh is off, trying to hold off till i see the mw on tue as even tho i'm in agony i couldn't face going to the keydoc for him to tell me i'm also imagining it.

Hi when I was in DIA a lady (trainee midwife) had the same in early preg, could hardly walk and she had pain killers for it, not sure what caused it thou don't think she's on bounty any more.

Perhaps it's hormones they can loosen your joints perhaps this is happening in your hips/groin (thou not sure if this happens later but I know some women have a belt to hold their hips together as it loosens their joints so much. Sorry not trying to scare you but there could be a reason for it. I think I would have cried if the doc said that to me, you feel like saying I wouldn't come with 3 kids if I was imagining it!

hi was just coming on to update, went to docs and described the pain and he had a feel of my tummy, (told me to cough don't know why?) then said i was imagining it.

He said my section scar (where the pain seems to be) is like scotland and at 7weeks pg the fetus is still in england more london so there is no way the baby can be causing the pain.

Was in and out in 5 mins if that, been home since 11am and the pain is so bad esp when i'm moving about and my neck is sore too, which i mentioned but he said it was stress with having 3 kids aged 5 and under????

dh has just rang and said he will be home in an hour and if i still feel this bad later tonight then he will ring keydoc for me and see if they will have a look, if not i'll try and hold off till i see the midwife on tue at 12pm x

sounds like strong painkillers is your best bet...I wonder why your scar is proving so painful?? has it ever been before? (apart from when you had the sec obv!) x
