Hiya,
please have a look at www.homebirth.org.uk there is a section called "can't have a homebirth because?"
it is full of really good information and research to help you make a decision based on facts. may help to print some off and show midwife too. also take a look at AIMS website they have lots of information about protecting a mothers decision to have a home birth

Pop over to the homebirth forum for some advice - I am sure we can give you all the ammo you need to argue against your consultants. THere is a thread there about a mum whose GP is refusing to support her - may be of use to you. There is a mum having her 6th baby at home, too. I had to fight for my second homebirth, but it was well worth it!

Personally I would argue the case what makes you high risk, if its just because is number 6, I don't think that is reason enough not to have a homebirth. I hope they change there mind. I would hate to think, my midwife would say no to A h/b for me just coz this is babe number 4 and 6th pregnancy, although my mc where only 4 and 6 weeks. Have all your other births gone smoothly?

saw MW on thursday discussed having another home birth but seems it's gunna be a no no as I am hight risk as this is pregnancy no6 (got 4 children) apparently i'm at high risk of bleeding. I was advised not to have homebirth last time by consultant but my MW was excellent and really argued my case, this time she doesnt seem to want me to have one..

I wasn't told that and my last pregnancy was number 6 too. Good luck with it - it's your right.
