I`m still bf too, dd is 11.5 months. We had a few probs in the beginning, my milk didnt come in properly to begin with as i had a section, and she lost almost 13% of her birth weight. I was advised to top up with formula but she just didnt like it, so endi=ed up bf her strictly every two hours, even waking her through the night. She has always had a problem with gaining weight, we are under specialist care for failure to thrive, but i have a good supply of milk and have always fed on demand. Her weight probs have nothing to do with lack of milk, but we`re yet to find out what, if anything, is causing them (she weighs 16lb 1oz)

We have the TT closer to nature bottles and pump and tbh the pump is rubbish. I think if you want to go for a manual pump the avent isis is the best one. I have always managed to fill a bottle really quickly with mine, whereas with the TT one i could only get a few drops.
Bottles i cant really recommend. Ds had avent ones from 12 weeks and got on fine with them, but dd just wont take any bottle lol. She wont drink out of anything but boobie or a fruit shoot bottle (filled with water, not fruit shoot lol).

Hi
I'm still BF my DD, she's 14 months, will wean her in the next few months.
I used the medela as well, electric is deff the best. I picked it up new off ebay quite cheap, I found lots of people buy them then don't BF so sell them unused on ebay, grab a bargain.
My DD never took a bottle so I never really expressed much and Im not sure which bottles are good. I found my supply was good as I never topped her up but she wasnt a hungry baby.
Hope it goes well, I found the Lansinoh nipple cream a god send the first month and never had too many problems.
Hope this helps

I still bf now and think it's best to start with no bottles and pumps and then get them later if you need them.

I have BF both my DD's and with DD#1 I had to give her a top up bottle from very early on as I just wasn't able to produce enough milk. I tried to express but only had a hand pump and I didn't get on with it. In the end I had to give up BF with her at around 10 weeks as I had to gradually introduce more and more top up bottle.
I had DD#2 23 months later and was able to BF her for a whole 10 months without any probs, she didn't feed as often as DD#1. I managed to express with her as well easily and after using a couple of electric pumps all by medela eventually purchased the medela swing pump, which I think is about £90. So yes it is an expensive one but I found it brilliant 100% better than the hand pump and a lot better than the other electric pumps I had used. I'm hoping to BF this next baby as well and hopefully will be just as successful as I was with DD#2.
So if you are going to buy a breast pump then I definitely recommend the medela swing. I also used Dr Brown's bottles. I pumped into the storage bags and then used the Dr Brown's bottles (which I have used for both of mine) when I needed to feed. In fact I'm still using them for DD#2 bedtime milk and she is 17 months now, hoping to get her off the bottles totally soon she is reluctant to give them up at the moment.

A very similar thing happened to me too, I had no milk by 4ish i was completely dry! i tried to just breast feed but my lo wasnt putting on weight so i used the tommee tippee bottles and combined them both for about 10-12 weeks gradually reducing. I found that i always gave breast milk mornings and he had huge feeds I think the sleep inbetween produced more. But the bottles were good. I found this way good for me x

To be honest I didn't get on well with any pumps I ended up hand expressing and I became quite a pro could fill a bottle very quickly and easier that any pump. Bottle wise we have always used and are still using Avent and Boots .

I used a hand pump and it was crap so bought an electric medela pump the difference was amazing I could fill a bottle in mins but took hours for a dribble with a hand pump was the biggest waste of monney

hi there, do you mean the bottles or the breast pump. I used the tt bottles when my dd was first born but ended up swapping to Dr brown bottles which were loads better. Im not sure about breast pumps as i never used them
