Hi ladies! So glad more of us are joining ooooo! Naffycaffy, you actually made me laugh out loud with your pringles and bread story! Poor you! I have not been too bad but I am definitely eating smaller portions of certain things- I seem to struggle in finding them as tasty as usual. I must stock up on other things next shop. Last week I kept seeing the anchovies on the shelf whenever I went on a food hunt (frequently!) and wanted them but am not allowed, I think. Anyone else having problems getting food to tempt them? I agree, we should have a name.

Hello Francya! And hello to all the other buddies in this thread!!We should give ourselves a group name to start threads with!!

Yes i have looked on the website.I first learned about Doulas on Richard & Judy a couple of years back!!(When i still had time for daytime telly!)At the moment i am really keen on the idea but its not something i would consider until this bub is at least 3 or 4 so who knows i might change my mind.Im just so interested in it all.The 28 day cycle is like alot of things.they have to standardise things & put benchmarks in but then the communication on to women & the massive differences in care from one area to another are what let it all down!!

Anyhow ive just finished work & went in the co-op on the way home cos i was so hungry but finding it really hard to be tempted by anything.I ended up buying a fresh white loaf,a pack of anchor butter & 2 tubes of pringles.I was literally salivating by the time i got home & couldnt get that butter spread fast enough. After 1 whole tube of pringles, half the loaf & almost all the butter i am now satisfied, although the resulting chronic heartburn is dragging my mood down a little.

Hi Naffycaffy, I was thinking of becoming a doula, too! Likely after a family, though (hopefully this will be our first). Have you checked out their website? I agree that it's all fascinating, and I think that women (and partners) need more information and support. A personal bugbear of mine is this constant use of the model 28 days cycle (which I understand- there has to be some way of standardising it). Most women don't ovulate on day 14, and the amount of time between ovulation and expected period is individual, too (usually 12-16 days), but because they use the model, a woman who actually ovulated on day 21, for example, may be told she has a baby that's small for dates, when really it is fine. I know that the purpose of the dating scan is to clear that up and that it can be very accurate, but still. I know that I nearly always ovulate on day 12 (except when stressed or ill), and have a 16 days post-ov. phase. I love all this stuff. It's so fascinating.

Im not sure if my date will change,i know when i conceived within a 4 day timescale but with my last 2 pregnancies i had no idea when i conceived, couldnt remember when my last period was so midwife pretty much guessed both times & they never changed the date at any of my scans. My first baby came 90 minutes before her due date & my 2nd came 18 hours before his so not bad going!!Ive been doing alot of reading up recently about due dates & the natural length of pregnany recently though & ive discovered some really interseting stuff. The average length of a british pregnancy is actually just over 41 weeks & anything between 37 weeks & 43 weeks should be considered neither early or late. There is growing pressure on hospitals to stop pushing women who have gone over there "due date" into being induced,in most cases the baby is perfectly happy & safe & where it is for a reason.Maybe instead of giving a due date they should give a due month...so for me who is supposedly due on the 21st May they should say you are due between 7th May & 4th June,it would alleviate alot of pressure & obsessing by us poor ladies! I just find all this stuff fascinating, dunno about anyone else?!!Im hoping to get into either midwifery or being a doula once all my kids are at school!!

Hello! I am 8 weeks today (13th), due on 25th. I don't think this date will change cos I know exactly when I conceived (thank God for the Fertility Awareness Method!). I was a bit cautious about getting bump buddies due to mmc in April, but sod it! I would love bump buddies!
