Sorry for the delay, not been very well and the week has just flown by!

How was your night out with the girls? Did they think you had a big bump?

Yeah the OH is helping out, but like you say, only if I ask him to, he doesn't see the pile of washing and put the machine on, I don't think men are programmed that way lol either that or they think if I don't say or do anything then I can get away with not doing anything.

This week so far (fingers crossed) Alfie has been a star with his sleeping, I feel so lucky! I feel quite bad for moaning when he didn't sleep because he obviously was in a lot of pain and discomfort and I just got moody because I wasn't getting my sleep. I did dose him up with calpol and bonjela but it didn't seem to do anything for him.

Valentines day - well I'm not feeling very romantic at the moment but it would be nice to do something special together, like have a nice meal and a DVD cuddled up on sofa or in bed - but cuddling is all it will be lol. Alfie has got a new appointment for his 12 month injections on valentines day because he was ill when he had his other appointment through so I am dreading that, doubt we will have a peaceful evening because he gets really grumpy and falls out with us when it is injection time.

Do you and your hubby do presents and cards for valentines day?

12 weeks and 3 days! But I'm not counting lol I  don't think it is going as fast as it did with Alfie but I think part of that was because Alfie was a big secret until I was about 6 months pregnant! No getting away with that this time, I feel huge. Plus I was working full time until Christmas 2010, Alfie was born in the January.

I can only imagine how difficult it would be for you to be away from your son, you're not going to be able to do much for him while you are in labour but I do think it is a good idea that you are at home for as long as you can be. Do you have much help nearby for when you are in hospital? Is he ok staying with other people for a long period of time on his own?

My mum lives 12 miles from me but she doesn't drive, I have a friend who lives 5 mins away from me but she has a 6 month old daughter and I'm not sure if Alfie would stay with her, he is very particular about who he will let hold him etc, the list is me, the OH, my mum and the OH's dad. Everyone else has to sit with him for a while first while we are still there then after a few hours he will go to them but will always be looking around for us to check we are still there. He can be quite clingy really bbut I think he is getting better as he is remembering people more. I'm not sure I would feel very comfortable with Alfie staying with a friend, purely because you never know how long you are going to be gone for and I don't want to take advantage with how long they might have him for, I don't think I would feel like that if he was with my mum as much as with a friend. Alfie has never been away from me or his dad for more than a few hours so that worries me a bit too because when his dad is away all day he misses him and moans for him and vice versa with me so don't know what he would be like if neither of us were there.

Does your son have to have a lot of equipment etc to take with him or would someone come to your house to look after him there? It's a shame we can't be in 2 places at once, that would be the easiest option lol

I bought 5 pairs of socks from Next today so that's another thing to cross off my list, although I know 5 pairs won't last me very long but I think I will dress her mainly in baby grows to start with. I realised with Alfie that we had bought too much because family and friends bought us loads too, do people still do that with your second?!

You've done well with your shopping too, have you got your pushchair sorted? 36 weeks is quite late but if the

hey, yeah hes ok now but got the runs from the antibiotics and as he's still in nappies its been a not very nice job for me all week!! got my girls night tonight and im soooo ready for it!!!!! even goin to sleep ova i think, i deffinatly deserve it!!! mite even have a glass of wine too!!!

how you feelin? is alfie any better, sleepin better? teething is horrid isnt it? poor thing! hope your hubby is helpin out and lettin you rest. mine is brill. doesnt do things off his own back (like doesnt see the big pile of pots or bits on the carpet) but will do anything if i ask him too. he has cooked luch today an is now doin the washin up!!

my next midwifes app is valentines day too. will you and your other half do anything nice? think we'l jus get a m&s meal deal at the weekend, at least its an excuse not to cook!!!

13 weeks to go!!!!! jus to remind you! hehe! yeah i kno wat you mean bout the not knowin with the birth, who will have your son etc. its worryin me too. my son has some specific cares that only i do so im goin to make the midwife awear that i can only be away from him for the shortest time poss. im hopin the midwife come to my home to help me labour there for as long as poss befor goin to hosp, then try and get home as soon after as poss. do you have your mum or someone close who will have your son for you?

great goin on the few bits you need. i think iv got the very very basics sorted if she was to come early, car seat, moses basket and a few babygrows, hats and socks in white but im tryin to get my credit card paid off befor we go shoppin and it should be paid off by the easter break when hubby and my son have the week off so we can go proper shoppin together, think il be 36 weeks so leavin it quite late but it should only take a trip to toy r us and tesco to get everything so im not too worried.

when you gonna sort your hospital bag out?? its completly slipped my mind!! eeek!

    xxxxxx

Oh no, it's horrible when they are poorly, is he better now?

That's good that it shouldn't happen again, it sounds like you will have your work cut out enough already. At least they know to look out for it and you have a really supportive family around you.

Midwife went ok thanks, she just did my blood pressure, listened to the heartbeat and gave me my MATB1 form. That was it. Have got my next appointment on valentines day! aww lol

I was just sat there thinking last night how many weeks are left and how quickly they will go. It gave me all butterflies in my tummy just thinking about it. I have also been thinking about what we are going to do when I go into labour, who will look after my little boy, whether they will come to our house or he will go to theirs, it's hard to make plans when you don't know when you are going to go into labour and it could be the middle of the night when everyone is asleep or the middle of the day when everyone is at work. Plus you never know how long you are going to be in hospital for. EEK!

I have finally looked through all Alfie's clothes to see what he has that we can use again for this baby and have got a lot of vests and a few babygrows that are just plain white so we can definitely use them again. We just need to buy a few pink baby grows, socks, bibs, dummies, nappies and milk. Then I  think we are done! All of a sudden I am feeling quite prepared. How are you getting on with getting baby stuff?

Did you ask the midwife about the kicking in your bits or had baby moved by then? I love watching my tummy move, it's so weird but really good at the same time, I love feeling her move, and she is doing lots of moving around lately.

That's good that you are feeling so good, got plenty of energy then? I'm still waiting for mine to come lol

I'm sure the girls will notice you have got bigger. When you are with the same people every day they don't notice you growing so much but when you haven't seen them for a while it is the first thing they notice. I love it when people notice that I am pregnant, if they don't say anything I often wonder if they just think I'm fat or haven't lost the baby weight from having Alfie! lol

Alfie still isn't walking by himself but loves cruising along the furniture or grabbing on to your leg! usually at the most inconvenient of times though lol he hasn't been very well this past week, he has been full of cold and has a bad cough, I also think he is teething at the same time. He has started a routine of not sleeping very well at night so I am constantly shattered, don't really get chance to put my feet up as much as I would like but I'm sure every mother is the same.

Is your husband looking after you making sure you get plenty of rest? xx

hey, god this thread was will far back!!! sorry iv not bin on in ages, my sons had a bad ear inection so been off school, dont get much chance to get on here when he’s home.

his conditon PWS is very rare and has never happened twice in one family so the docs arnt worried it will happen again, it was a delition of a cromosone at conception that caused it, nothin we are carryin and passin on. although he has kidney problems too, nothin to do with his condition, and it actually didnt cross my mind it could happen again, but we have since havin him found out my mum has a useless kidney too so may be heriditary (sp?), at the 20 week scan they had a good look but didnt pick owt up but have said they will scan this baby at 6 weeks old to check.

the bags sound great, i love new look stuff, cheap enough to fallow the fashions but good ish quality, iv bought loads of maternity clothes from there.

how did the midwifes go last week? mine was fine, didnt do much, said my bp and wee were fine and see me at 28weeks. cant really remember how many apps we had last time.

the baby has worked out how to turn around now so the kickin in my bits has stopped and my tummy is doin very funny things wen im sat on a night!! looks like an alian!! love it!!!

im still feelin great! although i feel like my tummy is stretchin an growin by the hour!!!! got a girls night on sat and havnt seen them for a few weeks, i wounder if they’l think im bigger?

hows your sons walkin coming on? hope your gettin chance to put your feet up? you feelin ok?  xxxx

It's ok, amazing where all the days go isn't it?! I have loads of plans for things and before I know it it is the weekend again and I haven't done half of what I had planned. The last few weeks of our pregnancies won't be like that though I bet!

I keep saying I will look through Alfie's drawers and wardrobe to see what clothes are in there that doesn't fit him so I can put them away for this baby, like white vests and baby grows etc but still haven't got round to it! I WILL do it lol once I have done that though I will have to make another list of what we have already got and what we need to buy. I would be lost without my lists.

I really like the Phil and Teds buggies, I tried one out in the shop for ages, got the poor lady at babies r us showing me loads of different things, was dead set on having one then when i got home and thought it through decided against it because the second seat (when the baby is 6 months onwards) doesn't recline so I don't think it would be very comfortable for her if we were going to be out all day. It ticked all the other boxes for me though. Like you say it will be ideal if you just need to pop into town. I'm being drawn towards a Baby Jogger City Select Tandem now though, just need to see it in the flesh and see if I like it. It is so hard choosing a double, I'm getting really frustrated. They are so expensive I don't want to buy one that I will regret.

I think it's lovely to wait for a surprise, I just don't have the patience for that lol

I know what you mean about encouraging them to walk then wish they would stay still, I can imagine it all already. We spend months teaching them to walk and talk then years telling them to be quiet and sit down lol

I've started taking Alfie to play groups so he can play with the other children and get used to having small people around him, he seems to really like it so hopefully he will be ok when his little sister comes along. It's weird to think of him as being a big brother, he is still only a baby himself!

Well done Sophie, it sounds like she really likes her big girl bed, she probably feels all grown up in it It's funny when you expect a child not to take to something they do it straight away, when you think they will be fine they kick up a fuss, always keeping us on our toes! You will just start to relax that she is ok in her bed and she will have a bad night, that's how my luck goes anyway lol xx

Hi again Diane, sorry for delay in response. I think Im going to get a Phil and Ted double buggy for them both as It will be quicker when I need to just pop into town for things as Sophie does like to dawdle. I've decided again not to find out what I'm having as I've got things from Sophie and friends that have boys and can pass down some clothes etc... I'd like some surprise for 9 months of hard cooking lol. Bless him, I think its funny how we spend months getting them up on their feet then another lot of months chasing them around until your sure they can cope a little on their own. After that you wish they would just sit still for awhile ha ha. p.s Toddler bed has been great all week (still expecting bad nights though, I've not been that lucky with anything else so far) Michelle xx
