Had to write this as I was soo impressed and thats not normal for me with hospitals

Went for showround of the central delivery suite on Saturday, as it turned out we were the only couple there as they'd had their parentcraft session in that day already, so that was lovely.  It was great to look around, the midwives and all staff we met were lovely, really laid back, we had loads of questions as I'd been having contractions that day and had a show a week before so I was really nervous about what that was and she talked everything through with us.

The rooms you labour in are great, most with ensuite so you can labour inthe bath, something I couldn't do at my last hospital.  They've got a great big birthing pool too for anyone wanting a water birth and everything was clean and bright.

I went being quite anti as I'd wanted a homebirth but, due to a needle phobia they wont allow it, but I now feel really positive about going there and that I will get a better birth experience than I did last time which is brill.

Sorry that went on, but wanted to share something good about a hospital and reassure anyone who is due to go there xxxx

    Hi All,

God I'm having nightmares!!!  Lisa I'm in your camp hun, Alex doesnt have oral thrush anymore thank goodness, but she is on baby gaviscon for reflux and I've been to the doctors today to get some sma lactose free prescribed as I think she's lactose intollerant hence the colic in the evenings and sometimes throughout the day   I've also booked a session with a cranial osteopath in norwich for next Monday in case the change of milk doesnt work as I cant go on like this especially with Lillie as well, poor little girl, she sometimes misses a bedtime story because I have to try various different things to try to settle Alex before being able to go to her and its breaking my heart.  What things are you trying with Max hun?  We alternate Alex between a swinging chair which sometimes settles her to sleep totally, sometimes just chills her out and sometimes annoys the hell out of her lol.  We rock her, walk around with her, put her in a sling and charge about the house.  The night we had a terrible storm I was out in the car driving around Martham to get her to calm down and sleep, its horrendous.  I've tried Infacol and it did nothing, gripe water upsets her, its very very hard so can empathise totally.

Other than life is jolly lol.  Leanne hope your hen night was great.

Janice, hope you and Jamie are ok, any news on his tests hun?

Michelle, hope Georgia isnt driving you up the wall and that Nathan is good.

Love to all and will keep you updated on colic cures, if I can find one lol xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    I'm still here!!!

Although I don't seem to have find time to scratch my arse at the moment - I can't believe how demanding they are, I never thought it would be easy but I didn't think it would be this hard either.  Max has had oral thrush now for nearly 5 weeks so have to give him medicine for that, and he also has colic as well - the evenings are unbearable!!!  He's had a cold and has a rash on his face at the moment but apart from that everything is fine!

Hope everyone else is coping well and don't drink too much on your hen night at the weekend leanne - you'll have a newborn to feed when you crawl in on your hands and knees at silly a.m in the morning (although if you're a lightweight like me you'll be home by 10pm)!!

    Be back later guys!

    Hi All,

Where is everyone, anybody would think we've all got newborns at home lol!

Just wanted to check how everyone was doing, I've not been on for ages as Alex has had oral thrush, reflux and now has colic so not got a lot of time between feeding and trying to get medicine into her which she usually spits out   And she doesnt really believe in sleep either so find it challenging to string a sentence together.

Will be back on later on if any of you are still around, loads of love to everyone xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Janice OMG what a nightmare, what a prat, I hope you are going to complain about him, that is absolutely terrible; he's lucky you didnt smack him in the face lol.  How wonderfully behaved was your little man though bless his heart, thats so good of him!

I'm looking forward to hearing about the Priory, they seem to have a lot going on there, I really should look into the Trinity Centre some more too as they have quite a bit on offer.

We joined the library on Saturday, Lillie loves to be told stories and I hope Alex enjoys books as much as she does so we went along, they get loads of free stuff, even first books for babies, its really good.  Am going to attempt to make a weekly trip down there with Lillie and Alex to chose new books to read as she is getting bored with the ones that she has.

Hows everyone feeling?  My stitches are finally starting to feel better thank goodness as the pain was really getting me down, I was taking pain killers ever 2 hours, I couldnt sit, stand, move without it being really painful, god I never want that kind of pain again lol.

Alex is doing really well bless her, she's had a couple of feeds where shes been in pain, so keeping an eye on that and praying its not colic.  Jamies back to work this week, hopefully taking next week off to compensate.  My mum is doing the school run bless her so I'm kind of cheating.

I cant seem to resize my pics to put them on here which is annoying, its only because my main pc is out of action at the mo, dont know what thats all about.

Hope everyone is ok, will be back on tomorrow xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Hello all,

I am back!  I haven't read through the threads just had a quick glance.

    So how is everyone doing?

Me and Jamie have just got into bed..really nice to be home and in my own bed..although he can't tell me I'm sure he thins the same!

We had a lovely holiday with a nightmare end..stansted airport lost my suitcase!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  With all Jamies things in it..not to mention my things..but I can live without them!  All the clothes that fit my, all his bottles but one, everything he has..not just that, sentimental things too..pressies, video camera disks with the films I made of him, all sorts of stuff..I won't go on as I'll cry again!  I was in such a state at the airport last night, the guy at the baggage belt rang easy jet baggage, I explained to him that I had a 6 week old baby whose food, bottles, clothes etc etc were all in that case and do you know what he said..it makes me mad now.."I suggest you go shopping on the way home!!!"  I said its Saturday night so he replied "well TEscos is open till 12 so you have 90 minutes"  I asked him to explain what happened now and he said that he has apready told me and if I wasn't listening that was my problem!!  I cried my little heart out I did..and my little angel slept from 6, when we arrived at airport in Belfast until we got in the car at 1am..never made 1 noise on th plane on either trip, I was so proud of him!

So I am still trying to track my case!!  I think there are a few things on at the Priory BEcks, I been meaning to have a look..I'll look and let you know!

Night night girls, big hugs for your babies xx

    Hi All

Sorry to hear you're still in pain Becks -  I thought that once childbirth was over then that would be the end of it but how wrong I was, like having gone for 9 months without a period we then have 9 months worth straight after the birth!  Went to see the nurse today about my bum problems - after she had a poke around up there (has anyone not seen my undercarriage in the past few weeks), she has given me an anaesthetic cream to numb the piles - pessaries the size of a baby-bel to stick up my ass, and laxitive sachet drinks to make that taste like dead mens sweat!!!!

Apart from that everything is dandy and I hope everyone else is coping just fine!

Lol Lisa, the nappy thing can be a nightmare cant it, are you drinking fruit juice and eating grapes, that'll keep you going and help the pile situation bless you.  Regarding your coment about who will be pregnant first, it sure as hell wont be me.  It has been confirmed that my pelvis is not right for giving birth naturally, especially to my monster babies, so thats me out of the baby making race, I never want to do that again lol, no matter how wonderful having a little newborn is.

Hows everyone keeping?  I can barely sit down due to pain in my stitches, god they're agony, cant wait for this pain to stop now, hence I havent really been in online for a bit as its too painful

Alexandra is perfect, shes put on weight already and weighs in at 9lb 1, which is good considering we're breastfeeding.  She can feed for hours at a time so we havent managed to get out and about much lol.

Janice are you back from hols yet, hope you are feeling ok.

Michelle hope all is well with you hun and that Nathan is behaving himself.  Hows things going with Georgia, Lillie just wants to be in Alex's face all the time and wants to do everything for her which is lovely, but shes heartbroken everytime she cant do it.

Leanne, hope you and gorgeous Ellie are alright.

So when are we all going to meet up then??  I'm out until I can sit down lol and when my daughter allows me 5 mins without demanding food, apparently she should calm down on that front soon with any luck.

Do I remember someone mentioning the Priory Centre.  I've been told about a breastfeeding cafe that is held there, I think on Tuesdays, but apparently they offer loads of different things there.  There is baby massage at my local centre in Martham, its the Trinity Centre, so I'm going to see about doing that when Alex is about 6 weeks, at the mo she doesnt really like being undressed so hopefully she'll get better with that soon.

Fab name Becks, we had Alexa (kinda similar) in mind for a baby girl & Emma is Georgia's middle name. Big congrats! I've progressed to SMA white already as Nathan's a milk addict, he's having 125ml every 2 hours still (hence my typing on here at weird hours of the morning - feeding & on laptop in bed lol!) so join my sleepless nights club! xx

P.S. Don't forget sleep is for the weak!!

lol no you're not being a moron I am, she was ventouse in the end, what a numpty i am.  We're also calling her Alexandra Emma Rose Blackstone, it has been decided by pulling names out of hats lol, but we love it and Emma is the name of her auntie who is my friend who I knew and she then introduced me to her brother who ended up my husband.

Had a nightmare night, she feeds all the time, Jamie bless him gave her some sma in the end last night so we got a few hours then, the mw has been over today to look at how she was latching on so going to try a couple of changes, but if it doesnt get any easier its sma gold for me lol.

She is scrummy going to try and get some pics uploaded later so pleased shes here.

Hope you are all ok, at least its cooler today with the rain so babies shouldnt be so uncomfortable.

Will try and get on later, loads of love to everyone xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Am trying to breastfeed at the mo but she could feed almost permenantly so not sure how long I'll be able to keep that up for, she is scrummy, Lillie is finding it strange at the mo, but she'll be fine, I am just absolutely shattered now.

Will be back on tomorrow to catch up with everyone, but for now I'm going to have a bath lol.

Thanks again everyone your support has been so amazing I cant believe it.  xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Hi All,

Hope you are all ok, we're home, but my birth story reads more like a carry on film than a birth story lol.  Cant believe Jamie didnt say whether we'd had a boy or a girl bless him, he's had a hard time lol.

Well had contractions as you all know, went to bed Wednesday night at around midnight after having loads of pains, but still thinking they werent going anywhere.  Anyway, woke up again at 2am and they were quite strong, but thought that would have ages to go and Jamie had had very little sleep plus he'd driven home from Heathrow so thought it best I leave everyone to sleep.  Things started to progress really quickly and I started to shake and feel sick and thought that I was in transition, but couldnt believe it could be happening, this was by around 3.30 so woke Jamie up as Lillie had heard me in the bathroom in pain, got him to put my tens machine on and call mum to come and be with Lillie.  The pain started to become intense at 4am tens didnt seem to be cutting it so asked Jamie to call CDS; they wanted to speak to me, I told them what was happening in between horrendous contractions and they advised me to have some toast and make my way in later wtf??!!  Anyway all of a sudden the pains were really pressured and I was in agony and then my waters broke all over our bed ; I got Jamie to phone CDS again and get an ambulance as needed more pain relief was not able to cope with the intensity of the pain at all, so CDS talked Jamie through what to do as they thought baby was going to be born there and then so he is crapping himself bless him.  So ambulance arrives along with my lovely mw, a trainee mw and a mw from Gorleston that the Paget had also called??  I got on the gas and air and mw said that I was 10cm so advised the ambulance crew to go as we'd be delivering at home.  Amazed I'd managed to get to fully dilate on a tens machine I was confident that baby would be born within the hour at home and all would be well.  By around 6.30am and loads of pushing and unbareable pain mw decided that we'd have to transfer to hospital as baby wasnt making her way down despite presenting properly, very strong contractions and effective pushing.  He heartbeat dipped once too so it was time to go, so second lot of paramedics came out to take me to hospital.  The pain almost knocked me out anytime I had to lay on my back, it was horrific.  As the ambulance crew were walking me out to the ambulance, I had a contraction and said 'oh my god' and this idiot paramedic said 'no love my name is Keith'.  I chose not to answer him as he may have died and he apologised lol.  Got to hospital and they examined me and said that I would need to go to theatre for a spinal anaesthetic for a ventouse delivery or emergency c-section, I asked to be knocked out and have a c-section straight away but they werent up for it.  Obviously Jamie and I are panicking because of my phobias, but I was in such a state that it was decided we would have to, got into theatre while Jamie scrubbed up and the contractions were so on top of each other we had to wait ages to be given the anaesthetic and while we were waiting they kept Jamie outside for his own sanity I suppose as it was a mess; BUT my god once that spinal had gone in, which I didnt really care about as I was permenantly on gas and air, it was amazing, I was laughing with the mw asking her why people didnt just turn up in pain and have this and that natural childbirth was highly overrated lol.  Jamie was allowed in, baby was born not too long afterwards and we both cried for the right reasons this time which was that we had a gorgeous girl and not that a terrible ordeal was over, like last time.  Unfortunately the placenta didnt come away so that took about an hour to come out and then get stitched back together, but Baby Blackstone was born at precisely 9am on
