I also tried infocol but didn't see any change. I was so glad when the hv came to visit i ust sat there in tears cos i couoldn't settle her whatever i tried.

She took one look at lo and said its trapped wind give her 5mls of cooled boiled water. half an hour later i had a contented little baby. I was advised that she was allowed upto 30mls (1oz) of boiled water a day.

I've since learnt that Garlic, Onions, is a huge no no and to limit anything with citric acid in (fizzy, squash).

I have started writing down what i eat each day so if she goes through a phrase of bad wind i can lok back and see what could have caused it, and know not to eat it.

I hope this helps a little

Hi. We have a simiar problem to you. The infacol did make me DD sick but its the trapped wind in her tummy coming up that forces the milk back out - does that make sense? She's been having the infacol for 3 days now and she's much better now and has a rested sleep. I was going to start giving her bottles but cos of the infacol I've been able to stay BF only.

It may be that shes not getting all her wind up properley at night so thats why she has tummy ache during the day. Be careful what you eat too, my mw told me that cucumber give your baby wind, so check to see if its a problem with your diet too. Not sure how else i can help as ive had to resort to breast and bottle as my lo was the same only night time he cried and slept all day. hth and

Keep your fluids up if you want to express and it will take time to get the hang of it but you will get there in the end if you stick with it.

I find i have to spend about 10mins making sure my son doesnt have any wind trapped after feeding from the breast as he gulps and takes in alot of air as when i give him expressed milk from a bottle then he doesnt get so much wind which is just interesting to note.

I cant really offer much more help than that sorry im new to it all myself being this is my first but good luck hun and you could try to contact the breastfeeding support network in your area your MW or HV should have the number for you they should be able to give more advice.

Well girls i need some advice/ideas...

My baby was born on 20th June, and have bf since then.

Well my little girl sleeps really well during the night, but crys all day, she realy seems like she has a tummy pain. She suffers bad wind so have bought some infacol but that makes her sick.

I decided to give her a bottle yesterday andshe drank the whole 4oz even though i had fed her just 30 min before hand. she brought up wind realy well after her bottle.

i did the same at dinner time today and she slept really well but when i bf her she always seems really unsettled and dont sleep very long at all.

I just dont know what to do, she is baby no three and i fed the other 2 with no probs at all.

I have tried to express some tonight just so that i can keep a check on how much she has drank and it took 20 min to get 3omls (im new to expressing).

Just to add she has not had a poo today either.

Any advice / suggestions? i realy dont want to stop breast feeding but if its causing her problems?
