DS2 also has a preference for everything but his back...when he's in his cot etc he sleeps fine on his side and seems to be soundest when on his tummy using the boobie pillows (ie lying on me)

My lo sleeps for longer on his tummy in the day as he suffers with alot of wind. He has slept on his tummy since he was around 6 weeks. I also now put him to sleep on his tummy at night as this is the only way we both get a good nights sleep!! I do make sure i check on him all the time. He can now move his head from side to side and i woke yesterday to find he done a 180 degree turn in his cot

It's not recommended hun safest way for a baby to sleep is on their back, once they can roll they can sleep on their front as you can't really stop them, but the difference is then they can roll back onto their back.
