this is my forth child and even with my second child i was offered better care i understand what you are saying with the first time mums and yes that is fair enough but the care in our area is naff with my friend with her forth she was told that she was old hat at it and wasnt really offered any care just ring if you need anything my main point was that 8 yrs ago which was when i had my 2nd the care was better even with my 3rd and that was 3yrs ago its just times have changed and i dont think that they are for the better

In my area the standard for a 2nd time mum with a lowrisk pregnancy is booking at 8-10 weeks then visits as follows

dating scan 12-14

midwife 16

anomaly scan 20-22

midwife 25, 28, 34,36,38,40

But you have their number to contact with any worries in between

I had heard that for 2nd time moms its less appointments with the MW but 15 weeks till you see one is a little bit to far. Like you said what about the dating scan.

I haven't seen GP yet was going to wait till next week I think. MY AF was only due today/tomorrow.

im so cross that the midwife care has gone so much down hill since i had my first they tried to book me in for my booking in appoinment when im 14 coming up 15 weeks i was like i dont think so as i want my 12 week scan so they booked me in for when im 9 weeks but i got this book telling me when im aloud to see a midwife and to be honest its not alot im not a first time mum but it dont stop me from worrying but if i was i would be tearing my hair out with worry all i can say is ive noticed the cut backs even since i had had my last one and that was only 3 years ago it wont be long and we will be having to have them in a field agian
