my doc says it doesnt matter how long your cycle is as its done from the 1st day of your last period anyway which always means theyve added a bit on. the only way to get an acurate date is your 12 week scan. x

It all depends on how long your cycle is from first day of your last period to the first day of your next period - usually varies, but on average its 28 days.  Mines 30 so my dates are different to docs.

If you are 28 days then your doc is right you're 5 weeks pregnant.

It can get confusing. The way I work it out is ... using a calendar I look at what day of the week the first day of my last period was. In your case the 9th Sept was a Tues. So you would have been 1 week preg on Tues 16 Sept. Two weeks preg on Tues 23 Sept. Three weeks preg on Tues 30 Sept. Four weeks preg on Tues 7 Oct. Five weeks preg on Tues 14 Oct. Hope that helps you get your head around it.

Hi there. First of all, congratulations! Your doc's dates sound correct to me. My last period was 2nd Sept so you are a week behind me and I'm 6 weeks tomorrow. The doc calculates your dates using the first day of your last period. Sure, isn't it nice to be a little further on than you thought! Hope you are feeling well and wishing you a happy and healthy 8/9 months.

my last period was 9th september,  this thursday gone was 9th october so that makes me 4 weeks and 4 days right? i went to doc today and she said i was 5 weeks or did she make a mistake? i dont get it.
