On my pregnancy calender it says that the intestines develop in the cord and then move into the tummy at around week 12/13...

I'm sorry that it wasn't what you'd hoped today. I agree with the others, they would tell you if they were truely concerned.
On the upside, they've spotted it early so can keep an eye on how things go, it's amazing what they can do these days.
I wish you luck for your next scan, it's easy to say, but try not to worry xx

Hi, I am sorry that your scan left lots of questions for you.
I haven't been through it myself so I cant offer any advice in regards to what this means, but I wanted to answer your part where you thought she was just trying to make you feel better.
from my experience of doctors and MW's etc, if anything they air on the side of caution and wouldn't tell you to not worry and that it usually sorts itself out if it was anything to worry about.
If you google it you might find some information regarding this that might make you feel a little bit better. xx

Hi. I had my 12 week scan today and I've got to go back for another in 2 weeks. Apparently the intestines is in the umbilical cord. She said it could either correct itself in the next week or so but by 2 weeks time they will know if there's a problem. I don't know exactly what this is or whether it is likely to correct itself. She said it's common but I think she was saying to to try and make me feel better! I just wondered if anyone else had come accross this and if it corrected itself or if you know what it is and what has to be done. Thank you for any help. x

hey hun good luck ....sending lots of positive vibes to you and bubs xx
