I think the best thing to do is get the anti-b's and then speak to your doc or mw. It sounds as if the tablets they've given are the new type (well not that new) but usually they are 7 days but they have brought in 3 day courses of better Anti-b's.
Lower back pain is a sign of a water infection, I think if you start getting a fever or throwing up then its when the infection has got worse but I'm no doctor.
Hope that you feel better soon.

Hi All,
I gave a urine sample at my booking appointment wednesday last week, i got a letter today from the doctors (pushed through the door as they are 3 doors away!) saying they dont have my new number but found an infection and have enclosed a prescription for antibiotics for 3 days.
Should i be worried as the sample was given nearly a week ago and its only now i am starting treatment? Reason i ask is the past day or so i have started to get some lower back ache and hope its not spreading?!
Thanks Ladies xx

Thanks hun, i guess the only thing that worrys me is i didn't know i had it, so many things can be shrugged of as pregnancy it didnt click in my head i had an infection. I will pick up the antibiotics tomorrow and try to catch hold of my doctors in the morning xxx
