Hello all
Thank you for all your messages!
Woke up on friday (my due date) at 6am with pains that felt like baby sat on my bladder.
Went to loo and few mins later they were there again. Didnt think too much of it until bout 30 mins later i relaised it was coming every 3 or 4 mins or so. Didnt feel like a contractio or anything i had in 1st labour though so wasnt convinced anything was happening.
Then, by 7.30am i was having proper painful contractions, mum came to pick Ria up and we called the hopsital. They said to call back wen having 3 contractions in 10 mins lasting minute each. By 8.20am, this was happening so we called back and they told us to come to hopsital.
Contractions by this point were v thick, fast and v painful. Got to hopsital at 9am only for a stoppid midwife to tell me i wasnt no where near dilated at all yet and sent me home.
I asked not to be sent home as this was my fear, also didnt want to get home and then be too far gone to have epidural etc if i wanted one. She told me not to be daft as i had over 24 hours yet i expect and best to go and rest at home!
Anyway, we went home, had worst car journey ever in pain. Got in front door, collapsed on sofa dying from the pains. After bout 20 mins, had sudden urge i wanted to push, went to toilet and waters broke. Rang back hosp and they said to come back. Well, i thought the 1st car journey was bad, this was worse!! ha ha
Had urge to push the whole way to hospital, got to car park, got out the car and my waters broke everywhere. This was 11.15 am. They got me into a delivery suite quickly, i went to loo and they told me i had to get on the bed quickly. Got on the bed unsure exactly what was happening, i asked for an epidural and they laughed and said theres no time for that, you are 10cm and ready to go. 9 mins of pusing and at 11,29am, i had our little gorgous baby Abbie, weighing 7.5lb
Think my body was in shock, literally couldnt believe 1 min they were telling me i had 24 hours to go, the next i was pushing little baby out, just with gas and air.
Baby Abbie spent a day in special baby unit as had probs with her breathing and also keeping feeds down. But then last night at 7pm, we were allowed to take our gorgous baby home.
So, now we are home, just the 4 of us and are all chuffed to bits.
Ria has been good as gold with her which is excellent, shes not quite 21 months old yet so we were unsure how she would react.
