i bf with a toddler too and havent had any problems really, he will ask to go to the loo when im feeding tilly, but either waits or goes on his own (thnakfully have had dp home and his ds lives here and will take him if needed)  Alex is starting pre-school in 2 weeks for 2 afternoons but otherwise doesnt go to any groups etc (tho gonna start mums and tots as well) if we do need to be anywhere i just make sure tilly has a feed before we go, even if its just a top up and she usually sleeps when we are out anywhere. thankfully she is a quick feeder too, usually 5 mins or so and she is done, now going 2/3 hours between feeds

I did try bf with my toddler but it was really difficult. Whenever I used to feed he would stand there and do something naughty as he knew I couldnt get up and run after him. It is very hard and tiring so you should do whats best for you and dont feel bad about giving formula.

Kian used to og 4hrly but this last coupla days maybe 2/3hrs. Megan is good as gold tho(does like picking things up when I can't  get to her) but lately I have felt that I'm  totally empty(altho I'm not) I think coz Kian had thrush and was having small feeds my boobs were filling up quick then he got rid of thrush and emptied me out.lol. I would say keep going until nearer the time, Kian has unsettled periods aswell where he wont sleep so now I just put him on the other boob and make sure hes totally full.

    Hey Sarah!

I gave up BF Abbie cos it ended up with her fighting my nipple most of time. Anyway...i started expressing so we could take breast milk out with us so she was still getting the benefits. Ended up giving it up tho as it was so tying & i didn't get much time with Holly (think she was feeling a bit pushed out even tho i did my best for her not to feel that way). I cried the last time i BF her cos wasn't sure i wanted to stop.

In the end it turned out better even tho i still get the odd feeling of guilt every now & again cos i feel i should've carried on. But Abbie's more settled now & feeds nicely, she goes at least 45mins longer than she did on breast between feeds. And i get to spend more time with Holly. DP can get more involved with routines etc now too as he doesn't have to wait for me to express. Think everyone's happier now we're FF.

    Sorry to ramble!! x

How are you finding it? I'm in a real quandry at the mo as i'm really not sure whether to switch to formula. Katie is 8 weeks on thursday and it's going pretty well but she's still feeding every 2 hours roughly and having 40 min feeds and i'm struggling to get her to sleep in the day and i'm convinced it's because she doesn't feel fully satisfied as i spend ages trying to get her to sleep and then she suddenly decides she's hungry again, therrefore i'm not getting any chance to spend time with DS on his own. Now DS's swimming and tumble tots activities are starting up after the summer holidays i'm just worried how i'm going to be able to do them if she's still feeding so frequently. I'm not really a major routine person but i really feel it would help if i could start to establish one with Katie but don't feel i can the way things are at the mo and think ff her would make this easier. My only concern is that if that didn't work then i can't go back to bf if i change my mind. I have thought about mix feeding but his activities start at different times so i couldn't just replace a certain feed a day. Sorry if this doesn't make much sense as you can see, i just can't decide, part of me would like to bf her for longer as it's going better than with DS and i hate giving up on things i've started but i just wonder if ff her would help.

    Someone plese advise!!!

    Sarah
