hey - well she is feeding now, still pretty grouchy but she had a pretty good nights sleep so hopefully on the mend, one thing - she seems to love her antibiotics (banana flavour )

Wow- exactly the same! Holly had an xray too - they thought they herd a heart murmer but it was caused by the fever. Didn't get a number but htey said to come back in if we're worried. Sorry to hear your LO had to go through the same

I forgot to add hun that it will take a while for lo to settle down at home again after being in hospital. Did the nurses give you a number to ring if you were still worried about her?

Hiya sorry to hear what your lo went through. Sophie had EXACTLY  the same thing when she was 4 weeks old, including lumbar punct, xrays, drip etc. Was a horrid experience and was awful to watch my tiny baby go through. Luckily she is fine now. She had same symptoms as your lo and we were in the hosp for 5 days.

Apparently there is a lot of it going around. There were 5 babies on the childrens ward at our hosp that were being treated for the same virus

    xx

Started last saturday when holly was basically sleeping all day, by the late afternoon i was getting worried, especially as she wouldn't feed. I took her temparature and it was 39 degrees! So called NHS direct and the on call doctor told me to take her down to A&E. I expected them to give us some calpol and send us home but no - it was action stations and the poor little mite had bloods, a catheter and canula put in and a lumbar puncture! It was heartbreaking to see her in so much pain. So they treated her for meningitis with IV fluids and antibiotics. On sunday, monday and tuesday her temprature was up and down like a yoyo - almost hit 40 at one stage. It turns out that it was a virus but they want to be 100% sure that any bacteria get killed if there were any lurking so continued with the drugs. We were discharged about 3 hours ago with oral antibiotics. Am still worried though as now she refuses to feed and won't stop crying

    Fun and games eh!
