I do sausage casserole in mine fairly often - I put it on when I leave at 8am (with plenty of liquid) and its on until i get home at 5pm - cooked to perfection !

I would defo do it for 5 hours regarless of what sort of sauce you use (home made or packet), as that is how long the sausages take to cook in a slow cooker.

Hey sorry to butt in, if it's a slow cooker the cooking temp is a lot lower than the oven, so cook for approx 5 hrs but keep an eye on the fluid levels. Basically as long as the sausages etc are cooked then you'll be fine.

i got a sausage casserole mix packet thing, on the instructions it says it'll take like an hour and a half to cook, but that's in a casserole dish in the oven. in my recipe book for a homemade sausage casserole it takes like 5 hours in the slow cooker. so if i want to use the packet mix in the slow cooker how long do i leave it cooking for...a hour and a half or 5 hours?
