Hey Jemma, glad Luca behaved himself today. After posting yesterday, Kyle has just grazed all day today LOL, must have jinxed him by saying how good he is

Here's hoping they both behave tomorrow

Just an update, Luca has been doing really well wiv his feeds. I have been making him go every 3 hours and he has been drinking all of his bottle (4oz). Just wondering now If I need 2 put his milk up to 5 oz??? He only got up for 2 bottle in the night aswell and let his mum have a lay in til 8am!

Hi Allboys - Aiden is taking 3oz 3hourly and sometimes finishes his feed and sometimes falls asleep, i have already increased his teat size to a stage 2 avent, which has helped. But he's very similar to Luca, where sometimes he just wants little and often, i spoke to mw/hv and they just said he will settle when ready and take more when he's ready. Aiden is on Farleys and he's putting on weight ok, with his irregular feeding pattern, it just don't help us mums establish a routine or get anytime to ourselves. I do often do a bum change if he falls asleep on the bottle, then he takes some more after

Don't know if this helps, but my mw told me that last year formula milk all had to be changed to have less fat in it so doesn't fill baby as much as it used to. An attempt to combat childhood obessity.

All babies take different amounts of milk, my eldest was a grazer and fed little and often, but Kyle (8days) is taking 7 x 4oz bottles a day.

You could try a different type of milk or even a dummy to try to get him to go a bit longer between feeds, that way he may drink more at each feed.

    Good luck,

    Jen x

Thanks girls, well ive just made up Luca's bottles and hes now got 4oz. Guess im gonna have to try and keep him awake to finish his feeds. Thinking of giving the hungrier babies milk a try for the night feeds and see how he goes.

Just remember to give baby drinks of water when they are on hungry baby formula as it causes constipation x

Hi allboys, Is luca falling asleep on the bottle and not finishing it or is he drinking it all?.  If his falling asleep on the bottle and leaving some then I would switch to a faster flowing teat.  If his drinking it and leaving some then looking for more a while later then I guess you could try the hungrier milk.  Maybe his just having a growth spurt so will be make to normal in a few days.  xxx

Nathan is 11 days old and hes on 4oz of SMA gold. when he drinks it every 3 hours in the day and 4 at night..

he was still hungry after 3oz sumtimes so ive now gone 2 make 4oz insted.. if he doesnt drink them then thats ok but at least if he wants it hes got it.

He has lost abit of weight since he was born so thats wot MW has recomended. ( he was 9lb8oz born, hes now 9lb1 )

He doesnt wake for feeds i have 2 wake him.. hes a very lazy baby and everyone keeps saying im lucky but i wish he would just tell me wot he wants.

I put him on 4oz yesterday but he just aint drinking it, I think its where hes going every 2 hours. If i could get him to go that extra hour i think hemight then drink more. He is also leaving a tiny bit of milk of his 3oz. Gosh i cant believe your lo is on 5 oz already. Think im gonna speak to my HV but then half the time they dont know wot they are talking about. How did you wean ur lo on to the hungrier milk?

Luca is now 18 days old and started off really good wiv his feeds, every 4 hours and once in the night. Well that didnt last for long, he is now going every 2 hours and drinking 3oz. Was just wondering if i should put him on hungrier babies milk, he is on Cow & Gate. Can I also just ask how many oz ur baby is on and how often they r feeding.
