I was advised by my HV to use olive oil on it. Havent tried it yet as LO hasnt got any yet, thought it was coming thou. My sister had tried all the shampoo's and creams on neices and none worked but olive oil cleared it up really quickly. Its what im gonna try when Cole gets it.

my dd1 had really bad cradle cap when she was a baby and i'd watched some baby programme and it said that the best thing for cradle cap is vosene
jst put a tiny bit of vosene onto a sponge and gently rub it in to the cradle cap and wash off
it works brilliantly after a wk it was gone and i never had any more problems with it

I was advised by HV with my daughter to rub in baby oil/petroleum jelly into head- leave overnight and then rinse off the next day and shampoo as normal. It seemed to do the trick for most of it although she still had a little- which I left
My HV at the time also said if it's left too long it can start to smell- dunno wehter that is the case- I never noticed any funny niff!!!! lol

Ive also tried all the shampoos and both my boys still have it, ds1 is nearly 6 and ds2 is 3!!! I was told to do there cradle cap wiv baby oil which will soften it and then scrap it out

Tho i wouldnt advise this on a babys head, i would just leave it hun, try the shampoos as they might work on ur lo.

Does anyone know the best way to get rid of cradle cap?

My little one has it on his eyebrows and hairline, I have been using an aloe vera moisturiser on it and it has softened it and just comes away when drying him with his towel after his bath. Hoping it doesn't come back - fingers crossed.
