my cerys had a chest infection at 4 weeks old and the doc give her antibotics and calpol for her temp, i thought you couldn t give anything before two months but i rechecked with the chemist and they said only give if the doc has prescriped. she is 9 weeks now and has asthma so she has to take a pump 4 times a day now as well, hope all babes are well and don t worry jo.

u cant give them anything till there at least 2 months, anythin b4 that has to be given by docs.. i've been sent home with paraceatamol but thats only for if his temp goes bk up and even then im only allowed to give it him once to bring it bk down - if temp doesnt go down then its bk to hospital again.... just be prepared if your lo does get ill cos its horrible, im a first tme mum and i thought i was doin ok but when i had to take rhys to hospital and they started to put the drip in his hand, i went to pieces - i actually left the hospital (daddy was holding him) to be sick

I was like u hun... i didnt have the flu but last thursday my oh came down with it and i tried to keep baby away from him but my lo got it... hes been in hospital all weekend and has been diagnoised (thats spelt wrong!) with Bronchiolitis, his breathing is better now but he was on a drip and had a tube up his nose and everything - it was horrible but they do get through it - i went to pieces i admit but were home now, thank god.

It doesnt get any better hun Alfie is my 4th and I am sure I worry more this time round.

You can give calpol at 2 months no probs, and afraid you cannot keep all the bugs away from them, my poor man has had snuffles since been born.

Speak to you HV hun xxx
